Note: This is a previous guest post on Lovely in Pink. I just wanted to include in on my blog and link the recipe under the recipes tab so I decided to post it on here as well. Many thanks to Becca for the opportunity.
We’ve been on a big healthy eating kick since Braylen’s arrival. I knew I wanted to instill healthy eating habits in her and we could definitely stand a diet overhaul. At first, Braylen loved all foods. She would eat any vegetables and fruits we offered. Now, it seems like its a little harder to get her to eat vegetables like she should. Mainly, the green, leafy kind that her pediatrician is so adamant about including in her diet. I am constantly trying to sneak things and thankfully its usually successful.
Like this pesto pizza…
So simple and Braylen loved it!
What you need:
1 roll refrigerated pizza dough (we used thin crust)
1 jar pesto
part-skim mozzarella cheese
frozen spinach (thaw and drain of excess water)
turkey bacon (cooked and crumbled)
Roll out your dough, spread with pesto, layer with cheese (as much or as little as you like), spinach and bacon.
Bake according to the directions on pizza dough!
This was a hit for everyone in our family and its my go-to way to add some green, leafy vegetables into Braylen’s diet.
