When I teamed up with BlogHer to review Boudreaux’s Butt-Paste I knew this would be a no-brainer. Before Braylen was even born I had friends who told me about this product so it became our go-to product for the, um, diaper area. I know, I know. You’re thinking of how glamorous my life is right now as I talk about which diaper rash cream I use for BK. Just one of the little joys of being a mom.
But let’s face it, diaper rash cream is extremely important to a new mom. Those first few weeks and months diaper rash can be horrible. We decided we would be proactive about the problem and combat the diaper rash before it even started. We would use Boudreaux’s Butt-Paste after each diaper change as a preventative measure. But it doesn’t stop when your child outgrows infancy. Quite the opposite, in fact. Teething leads to some of the worst diaper rashes, and we continue to use Boudreaux’s Butt-Paste today. You can check our their website and learn more about the product here.
While we’re talking about diapers and butt-paste and all that jazz, I wanted to give you a little comic relief. “Diaper disasters” are words that make moms cringe. You know the one, where the child takes the diaper in the crib and mom walks into a mess? Thank goodness we’ve never experienced anything like that; our worse disaster occurred in Target, of all places.
For a while it seemed she would reserve her best diapers for public. That horrid smell coming from my buggy would send me running with her to the bathroom quickly. So on this particular day we quickly head to the bathroom and mid-change I realize we don’t have any wipes. Not one single wipe — the whole pack is missing.
So I fumble around in the bag, but there’s nothing. The lady washing her hands works at Target, and she keeps looking over at me like, “Should I ask what’s wrong?”. So I just smile and shrug my shoulders as if I’ve got this all under control. But I don’t, because I can’t use regular paper towels or toilet paper because I can’t reach it, and I can’t leave my child on the changing table because she might roll off, and I can’t pick her up and take her with me because that would be a mess.
Then the lady says, “I can go and get you a pack of wipes, there are some small packs right by the register.”
Yes!! That would be perfect. The funniest part is that the only thing I could think of was, Was I really that obvious?

My daughter suffers from what we call “red butt” whenever she eats chocolate. It makes her poop a lot and then she starts getting rashy.
Andie says
Hmmm so far, I think a bad diaper story would be about when andrew was a 4-5 months old and I heard him straining so I gave him a few minutes to “finish” and then when I took him out of the jumperoo and put him up on my hip, I was like- what is that smell? And the poop had gone up his back, through his diaper and out the leg of his onesie and ALL OVER ME.
so gross. LOL
I love boudreaux’s! my coworker’s kids went to school with “boudreaux’s” kids!

After a BBQ at our house friends were starting to leave and BOOM… my 4 month old son blew out his diaper… clothes… and it appeared all over me, our couch, the floor… my friends started running around trying to figure out what to do to help. But mostly, they just ran around in shock, because I had put away the diaper changing supplies in the closet-because we had guests- instead of having a changing area out. Bad news.

Diaper Mayhem – We were invited to dinner at a friend’s house after church. They had responsibilities that kept them after service and we were brand new first time parents. They gave us the key to their house and told us to go on ahead. They would meet us when they were finished. Their house was a 20 min drive away. It soon became apparent to us that we had a disaster on our hands as our sweet little girl let out some of the most horrendous bowel sounds we had ever heard. We got to the friends house, took our young lady in with carseat and all to survey the damage. Her light pink ruffled pants were no longer pink. I quickly went into action, gave Daddy the baby and took the once beautiful clothes into the bathroom to try and salvage them. This is when I hear my husband groan. He had set her on our friends WHITE carpet to change her the rest of the way and guess what he got on their carpet. Oh, the humility of telling our friends what had transpired. Being veteran parents, with a son already in college, they chuckled and told us it happens to the best parents. I was still hugely embarrassed but so thankful for gracious friends.

Diaper rash is no fun! Especially when my baby boy got the most stubborn rashes! There were so many products that I’ve tried out there and with no luck. Finally, I got this Boudreaux’s Butt Paste samples from a friends and it worked like a charm! I’ve been using this since then.

Love Butt Paste! It has worked great for us.
Guin Frasca says
We have used Butt Paste since my oldest was a baby (who just went to kindergarten this week….). I tried many different kinds of diaper cream before that and I was so so excited when I finally found one that worked. All of my kids have had issues with red bottoms as reactions to food sensitivities and this product is the ONLY one that soothes them and stays on until the next change. If my kid’s bottom is hurting and they see the Butt Paste out for the diaper change, they calm down b/c they know it will feel much better in just a second.
My three year old also decided that not only is it a great product to soothe her bottom, but it is super duper fun to get it out around 10:30 p.m. and squeeze it all over herself. Head, chest, hands, arms, hair. Just so you know….it doesn’t work as effectively on hair as it does on their bottoms!
