It’s no secret that I love Mary Kay products; you even saw a few of my favorites when I told you what was in my makeup bag. I remember my mom buying me Mary Kay when I first started wearing makeup; it’s a company she has always loved as well. And when as I started purchasing makeup for myself I couldn’t help but go back to the familiar Mary Kay brand.
The brand has evolved over the years and boasts of a mineral makeup line that is one of the best on the market today. Full of vitamins and antioxidants, rich colors and unbeatable quality, Mary Kay products are a must-have.
I had so much fun playing with the colors and creating different looks for myself. This is one of my favorite anytime looks I created. Mary Kay products do a great job of giving me just enough color and coverage and can easily go from day to night.
- Golden Vanilla, Sweet Plum and Black Pearl mineral eye color
- Mango Tango NouriShine Plus lip gloss
- Lash Primer and Ultimate Mascara in Black
- Shy Blush mineral cheek color
- And the smoothness can be attributed to the Mary Kay TimeWise® Microdermabrasion set. It has worked miracles for my skin, and I still can’t believe how soft and smooth it made my face feel after the first week of use.
Mary Kay® Compact Mini The mini compact is refillable and can hold three eyeshadows and one blush. It has a mirror and well beneath the colors to hold brushes. It is perfect for on-the-go or for your makeup bag. I have a combination of eye color and blush that I use on a near-daily basis. I call it my go-to look. For me, it’s easy to put those colors in the compact so they are easily accessible when I’m getting ready each morning.
Mary Kay® Mineral Eye Color in Golden Vanilla, Truffle, Lavender Fog, Midnight Star, Sweet Plum and Black Pearl – I was sent the mineral eye makeup in these particular colors, and I had a great time experimenting with the different hues. In the picture I’m wearing Golden Vanilla, Sweet Plum and Black Pearl. I’m a huge fan of mineral foundation, and I found that the eye shadows provide the same lasting, weightless coverage as the foundation. It doesn’t crease like normal eyeshadow and it contains Vitamins A, C and E. The mineral eye shadows are more vibrant than my normal eyeshadow and stay on until the end of the day.
Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush- I smiled when I saw this in my package of Mary Kay goodies because it’s the exact color I was already using. It gives my cheeks the perfect amount of color and goes on smoothly and evenly. It fits perfectly into my mini-compact, and I love that the color lasts throughout the day.
Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango, Rock n Red and Café Au Lait- I’ve also been using the NouriShine lip gloss in Café Au Lait; I was excited to see it in my package as well. I’m not very brave when it comes to lip color choices, but I fell in love with the Mango Tango. They give me lots of color and just the right amount of shine for me. The added antioxdiants and botanical extracts leave my lips feeling smooth >and conditioned.
I was also sent several different mascaras to try:
Mary Kay® Lash Love Mascara and Waterproof Mascara in Black- The brush on this mascara is my favorite. It did a great job of separating and refining my lashes to give me a natural look of length and volume. The Waterproof version was basically my bff this summer. The Alabama humidity can really ruin good eye makeup but it was no match for this mascara.
Mary Kay® Ultimate Mascara in Black- Mary Kay describes this product as “boldly voluptuous” and once you try it you’ll understand why. I’m lacking in the eyelash department, it seems my brother inherited all of those genes in our family. I love that this mascara gave me length and volume.
Mary Kay® Lash Primer- The primer was added to my makeup routine, and it helps my mascara stay on longer while curling and condition the lashes. It’s definitely a must-have in your beauty collection.
TimeWise® Microdermabrasion Set- I generally take a very minimalistic approach when it comes to skin care. I wash my face in the shower and apply some type of moisturizer before I put my makeup on each morning. I had no idea what I was missing out on until Mary Kay sent me this set to try.
It’s a two-step system:
Step 1: Refine. Refine is acts as an exfoliator. I just keep this in the shower and use it a few times each week. After the first application I noticed my skin felt smoother. It uses the key exfoliating ingredient used by dermatologists to remove dead skin cells.
Step 2: Replenish. This serum leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. I love how easy it is to apply and how soft it makes my skin feel.

The best beauty tip I’ve ever learned was to use two shades of lipstick to contour your lips to make them look fuller and more defined. First apply a coat of the darker shade of lipstick to your lips. Then apply a coat of the lighter shade of lipstick to the middle section of your lower lip and then rub your lips together.
Ashley M. says
Before applying eye shadow, make sure to use a primer so that your color will last all day and not crease. Also, if you are looking to add a little sparkle to matte eyeshadow colors, use a primer with a bit of shimmer
CA says
Best one I have heard LATELY has been to use some highligher in the bow of your mouth to make it look fuller.

The best beauty tip I learned is to only highlight the shadow under the puffiness (not the puffy area) to “lift” and make the area appear more flat. Guess I’ve been doing this wrong for years. LOL.

I love Mary Kay as well!! One of the best tips I have is how to properly apply eye cream or concealer. When applying any type of eye cream or concealer to the under-eye area, use your ring finger when applying the product. The skin under the eyes is super sensitive and since this can be a daily practice for some women, it is better to not use excessive pressure around the under eye area on a daily basis to prevent wrinkles or irritation. 🙂 (What women do to look beautiful!!)
