I promise to try my hardest to find some time to catch-up on the 31 Days series tomorrow, AND then give you the last two posts in the coming days. I’ve fallen short, I know. Sorry.
Another week has come and gone, and while I can’t say that I feel like it’s flying by any stretch of the word, I’m happy to be through that first trimester and onto to the next.
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 13 weeks, since last Thursday.
Size of baby: Baby #2 is the size of a peach
Total Weight Gain/Loss: A pound or two? I’m not 100% sure, but I’ll know next week once I see the doctor for monthly check-up. By the looks of that picture I’ve doubled in width from the side. My main goal is avoid the 50 pound weight gain that I encountered with Braylen. Do you know how long that took to lose? Longer than I ever imagined!
Maternity Clothes: Y’all! I pulled the box down and oh my word, I need to update that maternity wardrobe. I’m hoping that I can continue to wear most of the things I own, or have been purchasing in recent weeks rather than stocking up on a ton of maternity clothes. Of course, I need some maternity skinny jeans in denim and black. The only problem is, the reviews I’m reading online are terrible. Someone point me in the right direction.
Gender: Looks like we won’t find out until December. I could make an appointment at one of those ultrasound places, but I think I’ll wait it out.
Movement: Not yet.
Sleep: Thankfully, I’m not quite as tired as I was in recent weeks. I’ll still take every single minute of sleep that I can get, though.
What I miss: Coffee, really, just coffee. And being able to chose any outfit in my closet.
Cravings: I wanted White Chicken Chili from the Cheesecake Factory something fierce this week. I finally broke down and tweaked a copy cat recipe and it was spot on. So good, that I’m considering guarding the leftovers in the kitchen. Or maybe going back for seconds, if I don’t fall asleep first.
Symptoms: Just the weight gain, I think. Oh, and the horrible skin. I seriously never break out, until I’m pregnant. I’m passed the nauseous stage, so there’s a plus.
Best Moment this week: Random name talks with Allen. We aren’t even close to choosing a name, but it’s fun to talk about.

You look great!! I’m pretty sure by that point in my pregnancy, I had gained 10 pounds!! I had a hard time finding jeans as well. I mainly wore leggings….until our school dress code changed. Luckily, that was at the end of my pregnancy. Ha!
Jennifer says
Ohhh, no leggings?? I would be in trouble these days!!

Share that recipe when you have a chance. I love that dish!!!
Jennifer says
Me too and I’m actually sharing it on Every Day Cheer next week ๐

The old navy maternity skinny jeans are so cute! I found a 6 in alabaster but you may want to look online!
Jennifer says
I’ll check them out online! Thank you!

I don’t normally shop there, but I ordered skinny maternity denim/black pants from Oldnavy.com because I couldn’t beat the price anywhere else. Surprisingly, they are super comfy and have held up this whole pregnancy! They have a few different band styles too! I think they run a bit big though, so if you go there, def buy the size you wore prepregnancy or maybe even smaller – they are super stretchy.
Jennifer says
Perfect!! Thanks for the input, looks like I have some shopping to do!
Nicole says
You look adorable! And seriously, I’m not pregnant and I would guard that chili! Ha
Jennifer says
Haha! It was so good!

You know, I wish there was some kind of company that helped women rent maternity clothes, like the staples. Wouldn’t that be so smart? That way we could spend money on the trendy things and just rent the basics like jeans and cardigans and coats!
Jennifer says
That would be fantastic!!

Granted, I haven’t been pregnant since the last time you were, but I swore by Gap Maternity’s Always Skinny jean. It’s the same style I wear when not pregnant and they fit really well. Just enough stretch, but they maintain their shape all day. And I feel sure I have a few super cute dresses you are more than welcome to borrow!
Val says
I loved the Gap skinny jeans too. They held up well and were my go-to pants during pregnancy.
Jennifer says
I was wondering about those! I’m going to check them out! Thanks!
Jennifer says
Oh good to know! I was wondering about those exact jeans, actually! Thank you!

You are precious!!!
Jennifer says
Thank you!!

They are a bit pricey, but if you want to splurge the Seven for all Mankind jeans are worth it! They look so cute and hold up throughout the whole pregnancy. I wore them after for a few weeks as well when I had to get out for doctor appts. and such.
If you don’t find out the gender until December you should wait and tell BK and your parents at Christmas. You could wrap up the news in a color coded ribbon and it would be so cute! Just a thought…
Jennifer says
Sevens are my all-time favorite! I need to go ahead and invest in a maternity pair. ๐
Kristen says
Aren’t you just the cutest!! I never wore jeans because I was pregnant in the summer, but I have heard Old Navy has good prices. My skin was awful during pregnancy too.
Jennifer says
Ugh, it’s horrible!! I’m going to check into Old Navy, thanks!
Lea says
Old Navy and GAP Online for skinny jeans! I’m 20 weeks along and just ordered my 4th pair. They fit great, look good and are totally comfortable! They also have some killer sales so you don’t have to pay full price.
Jennifer says
Thank you! I’ll definitely check those out!
Kate says
You are definitely NOT on your way to 50lbs! I’ve borrowed jeans for both pregnancies and I hate them all ๐ I’ve never found any that I’m not yanking up and adjusting all day. My favorite thing at the end now is maxi skirts.
Whitney says
I would definitely recommend GAP for maternity jeans/ skinnies. They are by far my favorite brand of maternity jeans because they hold their shape and dont stretch out funky and they have 3 options of panels (but I love the full panel, extra warmth lol) You look fabulous!!!

Don’t count out Forever 21 and Old Navy for maternity wear! I got a park of super dark maternity skinnies at F21 for like 12 dollars. And they looked so cute with boots and flats. Love reading! xo
