How Far Along: 25 weeks
Size of baby: Baby #2 is the size of a rutabaga
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +18 per my last appointment, I realize the photo above makes it more like 50, I promise to never wear that shirt again while pregnant. I’ll also try and take my pictures before 10:00 at night from now on.
Maternity Clothes: Forget maternity clothes, I want yoga pants, leggings, and sweatshirts for the next 14 weeks. It’s easy to forget just how hard it is to dress a baby bump. I’m also flat out refusing to purchase a ton of maternity clothes. Of course, I have a few things and I’ll purchase a few more, but I just don’t like the idea of purchasing something that will only work for the next 3 months.
Gender: Its a boy and were almost 100% certain he has a name.
Movement: Yes! Still feeling lots of movement from the little guy.
Sleep: No problems to report.
What I miss: Nothing significant.
Cravings: Im actually craving peaches this week, I can’t tell you how many I ate, and I was seriously sad when I realized that we were all out last night. I almost took Allen up on his offer to go and get some, but it seemed a little silly to make him do that. I settled for grapes and it just wasn’t the same. At all.
Symptoms: Still some pretty strong round ligament pain at times.
Best Moment this week: A date night with Allen and ordering the remaining pieces for the nursery. They were on backorder when we ordered the changing table and crib. On a whim, we went in Pottery Barn Kids before dinner and they were in stock. Someone will come out in a few weeks and set everything up.
Braylen had said some funny things since I’ve been pregnant. She’s pretty fascinated by the idea of having a baby around and she doesn’t ask too many questions that I have to deflect. Honestly, she’s pretty funny and she’s always thinking so it was no surprise when Allen told me she came up with this while driving home from church:
“Daddy, I’ve been thinking that I’m not pregnant. That’s what I’ve been thinking about.”
When I asked her about it, she said,
“Well, I thought I’m not pregnant because my belly just keeps staying smaller and smaller. Not like yours. It doesn’t stay small anymore.”
Of course, she had to show me.

So, so, so funny. James was convinced he had a baby in his belly when I was almost ready to have Will. He even got the nurse practitioner to check his tummy at one of my last appointments. I LOVE that shirt. I think it’s precious. And you do NOT look like you’ve gained 50 pounds.

You look great! I basically lived in leggings during my pregnancy. (Still do, actually.) I didn’t want to spend too much on maternity clothes, so I just bought a bunch of loose tops from Anthro, but I did get a couple of pairs of maternity skinny jeans from ASOS that weren’t too pricey. So fun reading your weekly updates!
