I have a DIY creaseless hair tie tutorial on the blog that everyone loves. When I did the tutorial I ordered a ton of elastic to make extra for family and friends. I could have made several hundred extra for family and friends with the amount that I bought. Moderation has never been my strong point.
I made a few mini hair ties for BK and she adores them. She loves to wear them on her wrist like me and she always wants me to put her hair in a ponytail with one anytime I throw my hair in a ponytail. With all of that extra elastic, I thought it would be fun to make a batch for her dance friends and use them as Valentine favors.
I designed a little card to go on the top of a clear cellophane bag (I cut the bags down to size), added a hair tie, and stapled it closed. It was such a quick, easy, and inexpensive process. The hair ties take no time to make (you can find my sourcing for elastic on the original post or pick some up at your local craft store).
I love the way these Valentine’s turned out, they’re my favorite by far.
You can click on the link below for a generic PDF file. Each page will make four Valentine’s and they should be formatted for the Wilton bags (I picked mine up from Wal-Mart) that are 4″ wide.
