I’m really excited about this post because it combines two of my favorite things: Garth Brooks and being a mom. Obviously, two completely different things, but for as long as I can remember I’ve loved Garth Brooks. His farewell tour was actually my first ever concert way back when I was in third grade. I memorized his songs when I was younger and Allen still laughs when one comes on the radio and I belt it out word for word. It’s true, Garth was my first love.
Now he’s back in the spotlight and his new song brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard him perform is on Good Morning America. I can’t quite articulate just how much being a mom means to me. Sure, sometimes it’s hard and messy, and I’m not certain how to navigate. But, the majority of our days are filled with joy and laughter, being a mom is one of my greatest joys in life.
I didn’t realize just how much a mother’s love means until I welcomed my daughter into this world. It was then, I completely understand all of the things my mom had told me about her love for her children. There is nothing like it in the world.
I spend a good bit of time simply thanking God for these two miracles he sent for us to love.
Sharing their hopes and dreams. Sharing their sadness and hurt. Rejoicing in the happy times and picking up the pieces when things fall apart. It’s truly a full time job for a lifetime, but the immense joy that comes from being a mom is unrivaled by anything else this life has to offer.
Here’s a clip of the song, but be advised it’s a tear jerker, especially for you mama’s out there. It’s a conversation that a baby is having with God. The sweetest conversation about this special person that the baby is going to meet, their mom. The song really tells of the special bond that a mother and child have, and just how special a mom truly is.

You had my attention at Garth Brooks! I am a huge Garth fan too. He was my first ever concert in 5th grade. I had posters up all over my room. I keep hoping he is going to add concert locations somewhere near me because my entire family would love to go! Sadly I haven’t gotten around to checking out his new CD. I will now. 🙂
Those lyrics are beautiful! I LOVE Garth Brooks, he has always been one of my favorite musicians. So glad he is making music still.
