Well, hello 2016, January has sure flown by! I thought I’d fill you in on what we’ve been up to lately.
READING: I’m finishing up After You. I actually hope to speed through it tonight and tomorrow, so I can have a book post up for you. My goal is three books each month this year and this rounds out that goal for January. I’m listening to plenty of Junie B. Jones, too, read by BK.
WATCHING: We’re currently watching way too many episodes of Lost each evening. I hear it ends bad, right? That’s the feedback I’ve gotten from everyone, but we’re currently in the middle of Season 3 and sort of enthralled with their island life. We caught the Chipmunks movie earlier this month, the kids were pretty impressed.
COOKING: Every single day. Seriously. We’ve eaten at home and cooked more meals in the past month than we have in the past 3 months combined. It actually feels really good to cook at home and sit down together and eat. A nice reprieve from the busy-ness outside these walls.
EATING: All things LiveWhole365. It’s going better than I could have ever planned and I’m really proud of the choices we’ve been making.
DRINKING: Water and ((almost)) black coffee, I stir in a little coconut cream, but it’s a far cry from my sugary lattes.
TEXTING: With Kristin about all things LiveWhole365 and life in general. I think we’ve had one long ongoing conversation for the past few months, and I don’t hate it.
PINNING: It’s basically Disney and recipes over on Pinterest these days. Although, if you want to know a secret, I’ll tell you that we plan on turning a little attic space in the guest room into a reading nook/secret area for BK and moving her room to the guest room. It’s in the distant future, but I’ve pinned few ideas for safe keeping.
GOING: We have a fun trip to Nashville planned soon to celebrate Allen’s birthday. I certainly plan on cheating for this one.
LOVING: The slow pace of a New Year, while I love the holidays, it’s nice to slow down and breath a little. I’ve set my priorities a little better and I’m loving spending uninterrupted time at home, Bible journaling, and reading books.
DISCOVERING: Running! I’m not good at it at all, but I love having something to work towards.
CELEBRATING: It’s been a big month of celebrating! We celebrated a New Year with our neighbors, Alabama’s recent National Championship win and my dad’s birthday.
PURCHASING: I’m really attempting to get the spending to a minimum. There isn’t anything we really need and it tends to get a little out of control during the holidays, so January always seems like a great time to reign it all in and really get the budget under control. I did buy a new pair of running shoes and I’m absolutely loving them!
WEARING: Y’all! I head to the gym after I drop BK off at school most days and I’m living in workout clothes these days. I don’t hate it or have once single desire to change. I’m honestly thinking seriously about packing yoga pants for Disney.
