We recently purchased a Costco membership and it is a game changer. I was amazed at the huge selection of organic and Whole 30 compliant items available, and available in bulk. If you’ve ever purchased grass-fed and organic from your local Whole Foods, then you know just how expensive it can get.
We thought it would be wise to put the Costco membership to use and purchase things in bulk. Here’s a look at what I purchased at Costco:
Protein
- Organic Chicken
- Aidell’s Chicken-Apple Sausage
- Organic Ground Turkey
- Organic Beef Roast
- Organic Ground Beef
- Wild Caught Salmon
- Wild Planet canned tuna
- Cage free eggs
- Kirkland’s Turkey burgers
For the most part, the meat is already divided out pretty well. If not, I divided the meat to freeze in smaller sizes for cooking and then froze them in portions.
Fruits/Vegetables (there are tons of options here, this is just a sample of some of my favorites)
- Pre-cut butternut squash
- Mini cucumbers
- Trimmed brussels sprouts
- Mini peppers
- Romain hearts
- Pomegranate Arils
- Organic spinach
- Organic spring mix
These were just some of my favorites. There are tons of options for fresh produce and it changes seasonally, the prices are great and so is the quality.
Pantry
- Organic diced tomatoes
- Avocado oil
- Coconut oil
- Olive oil
- Organic Chicken Stock
- Almond butter
Snacks (moderation)
- Macadamia nuts
- Pistachio (shelled)
- Almonds
- Cashews
- Dates
- Dried fruit
- Lara Bars
- Bare Fruit Apple Chips
- Good Foods Guacamole (individual servings)
- Fresh salsa
Obviously, snacks are frowned upon a bit during Whole 30, but I know how some of these got me through during my first round. We keep things like this around at our house.
Drinks
- La Croix variety pack
- San Pellegrino
- Coconut water
I’ll be over on Instagram this week, with the @livewhole365 account, so come and follow along for delicious meal ideas, and to keep up with the progress all year!

I wish Costco had more flavors of La Croix but agree that Costco has really improved in the healthy eating options department!!!

Thanks for sharing this list. We’ve seriously been contemplating making the switch from Sam’s to Costco based solely on the selection of organic and healthy options. Your list made everything clear and I will definitely be looking more into this when our membership expires in May.
