Just a quick update — I totally used 3 cheat days this weekend while we were in Nashville and it was amazing! Except, then it wasn’t, you know, afterwards. I am finally feeling great again after eating Whole this week. I obviously need to not go so crazy when I cheat and maybe just stick to a bite or two.
I have a whole slew of things that I love in my kitchen. I’m not much for small appliances (no, you can not take up my counter space), but I do love really good tools that make my time in the kitchen easier. I put together a list of my favorites, you certainly don’t have to have these, but they sure do make things easier.
ONE- Wustoff Knives — Here’s the thing, a good set of knives is certainly pricey, but after trading in ours for a set of Wustoff Ikons, I don’t know that I could go back now that I’ve tried these. We literally baby them, too. They are probably one of my favorite things in our whole kitchen.
TWO- Avocado Slicer– This is amazing!! It will do everything you need for your avocado, and gives me perfect slices in the end, and you can chop them up smaller if you want to add to your salad.
THREE- – I love this little contraption! I use it mostly to make sweet potato and zucchini chips, but it is so sharp and will slice whatever you need. This particular brand has a few different options for thickness.
FOUR- Ninja Kitchen System (ON SALE right now) – Perfect for blending, but I love the additional attachment like the food processor and the smaller cups for smoothies. Did I mention I don’t love kitchen appliances? I love this one because it eliminates me needing several different appliances and acts as an all-in-one.
FIVE- Potato Cutter– So this will change the way you make french fries at home! They are all cut perfectly even and cook at the same rate, so you don’t have 1/2 a pan of burnt or undercooked home made fries.
SIX- Salad Shears – I ordered these from Pampered Chef and literally use them almost daily. To cut lettuce or spinach, or even to shred meat once it has been cooked in the crock pot. They work perfectly every time.
SEVEN- Garlic Press – I love using fresh garlic, but despise chopping it because I hate that smell on my hands. I usually press all of our cloves through a garlic press.
EIGHT – Spiralizer– Zoodles or sweet potato fries, for the win! I’m sure you can do one thousand other things, but those are the favorite functions, across the board.
I’ll be posting on the Instagram account this week AND next (and if I can get my act together, I’ll be sharing some before and afters next Friday, I have been so pleased with the progress so far). You can follow along at @livewhole365.
