This post is a long time coming, and when I saw this prompt I immediately knew which room I would share. A home tour sounds fantastic, but let’s be real, will I ever be 100% finished with this house? Probably not. You can click on the “Home Tour” tab at the top to see some other rooms, if you want a little more. Today, we’re sticking with a room tour, my craft room/office…
We’ve been working on my craft room/office for a while now. A little background, we had an extra room in the basement. The previous owners actually used it as a home office, it had carpet and wasn’t painted the best color, we used it for storage for the longest time. Then, I thought it would make a great office, so Allen cleaned it out, tore up the carpet and stained the concrete and painted it a pretty color.
He’s responsible for the majority of the work in this space, he built the cabinets and island, installed the marble (of course), and made those sweet peg boards you see on the walls. Typically, I just draw a picture and he executes the actual design.
We’re a great team.
We made good use of the peg board and this is the best part of the room. A peg board full of ribbons and thread and tissue paper. We used dowels and hooks to hang the ribbon, peg board baskets hold ribbon scraps, embellishments and gift tags.
I especially love that television on the wall. You know your husband knows you well when he excitedly shows you the television with zero cords. It’s completely hooked up to our cable, too! Allen of the cords are run through the ceiling and back behind the tv. The cable box and surround sound is housed in the cabinets.
In the middle of the room, there’s a great island with storage and plenty of work space.
On the back wall, we added a set of cabinets on wither side of a desk for my computer. Can we take a second to talk about how gorgeous that marble is? It wouldn’t have been on my radar, but Allen has a granite/natural stone company, and I’m a lucky girl! That’s Alabama White with the prettiest gray and pink veins I’ve ever seen. Allen says this room will be a great selling point when we move, but all I can think about it is how careful our movers will have to be when they take this room to my next house ;).
And he seriously thought of everything, do you see those two cords sticking out near the printer? That’s a phone charger and an auxiliary cord that is hooked up to the surround sound in the room.
We added a peg board above both sets of cabinets and I scoured the internet for something fun for the pegboards, and ended up with these great acrylic containers (see links at bottom of post).
The peg boards keep everything in arms reach, but nicely organized. From pens to bakers twine, glue sticks to scissors, the most used things get a spot on the peg board.
We also added a super inexpensive cabinet to house party supplies. Those glass containers make a pretty sweet candy bar and my friends often scour this area for party supplies. It makes my heart happy to see them put to good use.
So there you have it! A tour of my favorite room in the whole house. Now, who wants to come over and make something from Pinterest?

Oh my goodness! Such a dreamy craft room! I love that everything has a place! The marble is absolutely beautiful against the splash of color on the walls! And i love the IKEA cart. I have had my eyes on it for the past year but don’t have space for it right now.

Your craft room is stunning and what my dreams are made of! I had an amazing craft room before I got married and lived at my parent’s house. Now I am limited to a cabinet in the kitchen and desk in our bedroom. Everything always ends up strewn all over the kitchen table. We are looking to buy a house right now and I keep thinking we have to get a four bedroom or a finishable basement so I can have my dream room again. Yours is just lovely!

Wow! This is gorgeous. I have major envy of everyone who has a full room for their crafting! Definitely on my list of “must haves” when I buy a house ๐

Oh, I ADORE this. I cannot wait for the day I have a real house and space for crafts instead of cramming it all into my little apartment!

Oh my goodness, I need a person like you to come over and help make all of my decorating dreams come true. I suck at it. Really. I’m posting my “share your space” post tomorrow but I am very hesitant about it. Decorating is just not my thing though I want it to be. I don’t even craft and I still want your craft room, lol!
