This year I am determined to have each and every single Christmas present purchased and wrapped before December even gets here. I want to enjoy the holiday season this year and I don’t want to spend time standing in long lines at department stores. I actually did a little Black Friday shopping and then I spent Saturday evening taking care of the rest of my Christmas list. I can’t tell you how good it feels to check every one off of the list, now if I can just get everything wrapped in the next week.
Each year Christmas gets a little more fun with BK. She will really understand it this year and we’re even pulling out the Elf for the first time, ever. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she comes down the stairs on Christmas morning, I know it will be priceless.
So what do you get a toddler for Christmas? BK’s Christmas list looks a little something like this:
- A Barbie Jeep. Our neighbor’s son has a Gator and she is obsessed with riding and driving his power wheels. I’m not sure how or when things got so technical but she is specifically requesting a pink Barbie jeep, so we’ll make sure there is one under the tree on Christmas morning.
- A Melissa and Doug easel. I took to Twitter for recommendations on the best toddler-sized easel and Melissa and Doug was the overwhelming response. I wasn’t surprised, we own a slew of Melissa and Doug products and I’ve never once been disappointed. I can’t wait to see her creativity shine while using the easel.
- A kid-friendly iPad case. I love the cute iGuy, it’s durable, the legs act as a stand and the arms act as handles. It’s too cute to pass up and since she’s pretty much claimed the iPad for her own, I think this is a must-have to ensure it’s longevity.
- Clothes, clothes and more clothes. I stocked up at the Carter’s and Remember Nguyen sales over the weekend. Hopefully, this will ensure she is set in the clothing department for the next few seasons. A good mix of smocked and play clothes, bows and shoes. All of the essentials, of course.
- books, Bitty Babies, Melissa and Doug Puzzles (okay, anything Melissa and Doug), baby doll strollers, little writing desks and the LeapPad.

We do the 3 present tradition to represent the 3 gifts Jesus was given. I’m still unsure about doing the entire elf thing. I think in a society that focuses on materialistic things and keeping up with the jones’ , I want our son and future children to know why we celebrate it and to have a serving and giving heart. But I also remember how much I loved Christmas as a child.

These are all such great ideas! I will have to remember these in the next couple of years. Where did you find that little writing desk? We are looking for one for Addie for Christmas that has a back on it.

My sister had a Barbie jeep growing up and she just loved it! She was a crazy driver and could drive that thing anywhere. BK will LOVE it!!
