Last year when I was scouring the internet for Candy Land themed birthday parties I found this idea on Lindsey’s blog and borrowed it from her. I picked the tablecloth up yesterday and I just love the way it looks. I can’t wait to continue to add to it for future birthdays.
I started with a plain white tablecloth and each year I’ll just add the number and the theme for that year. I would love to keep doing it year after year, it will eventually be a fun keepsake. I love the we have a special tradition that will be incorporated each year at her birthday party.
And when she’s a teenager she’ll probably think it’s silly but when she gets older I’m sure she’ll cherish it, after all, it will have accompanied her to each of her birthdays.
Do you have any fun birthday traditions for your children? I’d love to hear about them!

My friend, Kristin was the one that gave the idea to Lyndsey! ๐ She did it for Georgia Kate’s birthdays- it is the sweetest idea. If I ever have a girl I’m definitely doing this. Something tells me that little boys won’t appreciate it, but I sure would love to do it! ๐ Or maybe I can just do it for myself if I never have a daughter?? ๐ not the same thing, right? ha! LOVE Braylen’s theme this year. I know it is going to be an absolutely adorable party with her mama in charge!

That is precious! I love that tradition! I started a prayer hands tradition this year … where I pick a verse for the next year of Thatcher’s life and stamp his hands.

That is such a cute idea! I love it so much! I’m trying to think of what to do for my Girl’s 2nd birthday in August. I’m thinking something along the lines of Sesame Street or Elmo ish. She LOVES that show…so we shall see what I can come up with! Happy Birthday to your girl! Crazy how time flies!

That’s such a lovely thing for your daughter to have when she is older ๐ My minister and his wife (who are from England but have moved here to Australia) have this crazy tradition where they cut out whatever digit you have turned out of newspaper and stick these giant newspaper numbers all over the house for the week of your birthday… very cute!
