How Far Along: 24 weeks
Size of baby: Baby #2 is the size of an ear of corn.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I went to the doctor last Wednesday and I was up 8 pounds. That’s right, 8 pounds in 5 weeks. The nurse pointed out that I must have really enjoyed the holidays. I asked her for a total and she said it was right at 18 pounds. The good news is, I’m less than I was with Braylen at this point. Here’s to not gaining double what I should at each appointment from here on out.
Maternity Clothes: This was the first week when I was really struggling with my closet. There is a definite line drawn between what does fit and what I wouldn’t dare take off the hanger and attempt to wear. So yes, bring on the maternity clothes.
Gender: It’s a boy and we’re almost 100% certain he has a name.
Movement: Yes! Still feeling lots of movement from the little guy.
Sleep: No problems to report.
What I miss: In the grand scheme of things nothing really profound. Obviously, I miss my clothes fitting, sleeping on my stomach, and deli meat, but all those things will return in no time at all.
Cravings: I’m not craving anything really significantly, I did eat a ton of pickles this weekend which is completely strange because I don’t normally eat them, at all.
Symptoms: Round ligament pain? I think that’s what we’re dealing with. It’s no fun at all.
Best Moment this week: We sold our house this weekend (the house we previously lived in), which is a huge blessing! We also celebrated my dad’s birthday and spent several quiet evenings at home.
And while we’re talking pregnancy, I also wanted to share with you a fun new pregnancy must-have that I’m loving! The people from Belly Buds were so kind to send me this fun package in the mail.
Allen’s first reaction was, wait, didn’t we see those on Shark Tank?
Yes, indeed, you did!
Belly Buds are an amazing product for moms to be. The growing baby can hear sounds at 20 weeks and begins to make memories at 30 weeks. There is so much positive research about playing music to your baby in utero. The problem is, headphones aren’t made for bellies. Belly Buds offers a creative solution. The buds are flat and the kit comes with a medical grade (and completely safe) gel adhesive. You simply adhere the adhesive to the buds and then stick right on your belly. The buds can hook straight into your iPhone or other device for easy listening for the baby.
Because they’re sticky, Belly Buds allow you to go about your routine while allowing your baby to listen to music. You aren’t limited to lying down the entire time. They stay in place and securely adhere where ever you stick them.
Another amazing thing that Belly Buds offers is Voice Share. Voice Share enables you to record a story, song, or special moment to the site and it is converted to a file ready to be played on your device. You can even invite others to record messages for the baby. How perfect is this for a dad that is out of town or deployed. It’s an amazing bonding tool that allows you to make special connections with your growing baby.
Baby boy is loving the music. He moves around the entire time I am using the Belly Buds and I think it’s fascinating to watch as he responds to the music. These are definitely a pregnancy must-have and I highly recomend this product.
The Belly Buds kit can be purchased here and includes the following:
- a set of Belly Buds
- a splitter cable
- extra adhesives
- a carrying case

We saw these on Shark Tank! I told Kevin that we have to get some when I’m pregnant.
All of you cute bloggers and some dear friends of mine having babies are giving me baby fever! ๐

I’m obviously a little behind… I love that outfit! And I had a lot more pain with #2, too. Apparently it’s normal ๐

Not to be negative, that is essentially a headphone marketed for pregnant women to stick on to their belly. You can easily do the same with $10-$20 headphone sold at walmart. Cut each ends and add medical tape.

Hi Michelle-
Sure! I definitely think you can! I just found this super simple to use, and loved how easy the silicon adhesive on the headphones works. I guess for me, it was just the convenience factor that sold me on these!
