I’m jumped on the 21 Day Fix bandwagon and after just one week, I’m loving the program. I’ve worked out every day and I’ve eaten within the portion guidelines. I would love to lose the rest of the weight that I gained while pregnant with Judson, tone up for this summer, and get a handle on my portion and eating habits.
So what is the 21 Day Fix?
It’s an at-home (because this girl has zero time to hit the gym) work out system with color-coded portion control containers. Each container is color coded and matched to food groups. The nutrition guide shows the options for foods in each container. It’s truly fool-proof, and I love how simple and easy the program is to use.
There are seven (7) total workouts (not including the bonus workouts).
What do you get with the Fix?
It includes daily workouts, bonus workouts, nutrition guides, containers, a shaker, and a more intense Countdown to Competition regiment (I’m saving that for round 2). It’s actually Autumn’s exact fitness program she uses for fitness competitions.
Why the Fix?
I love that this is the total package, nutrition and workouts! The color coded organizers make everything so simple. I’m also drinking Shakeology as a quick and easy breakfast (because breakfast is always the hardest meal for me). We joined the gym last month, but even with child care, it’s tough for us to get there on a consistent basis. I’ve been doing the workouts first thing in the morning or during Jud’s nap to make sure I fit it in during the day.
I even took before pictures so I would be able to share the afters with you in a few weeks. I’m a little mortified by the way they look, but I’m happy to have documentation for progress.
So what can do I eat?
I have to tell you, in this house, we were bored to death with the usual grilled chicken and roasted vegetable scenario. I knew I would have to kick it up a notch to keep everyone happy and avoid food boredom. Here’s one of our favorites this week:
A co-worker made this soup for us and I couldn’t stop thinking about it! Just dice up sweet potatoes, celery, and bell peppers (I used 3 whole sweet potatoes, 2 stalks of celery, and 1 bell pepper), add one can of crushed tomatoes. Cover with chicken stock and bring to a boil. Then sauté a package of turkey smoked sausage, onions, and garlic in a separate pan. Add the sausage, onions, and garlic to the vegetables and broth. Add salt, pepper, and hot sauce (to taste). Add several handfuls of kale, and reduce heat. I let ours simmer for about 30 minutes and it was delicious!! Seriously, we’ve even eaten all of the leftovers.
Challenge Group!
I’m currently on week 2 of the fix, but I plan on doing a second round at the beginning of March and I would love to have you join in! There will be a Facebook group with meal plans, grocery lists, and support during the challenge. I’ll be posting pictures of exactly what I’m eating throughout the day to give you plenty of ideas and motivation!
Want to join in? Send me an email to lifeinthegreenhouse@gmail.com and I’ll send you all of the info! Ordering the Fix now gives you plenty of time to get your package before the March 1st start date, and take advantage of the February special.

Sounds like a really great program! I love the color coded containers. I think that’s brilliant! Getting to the gym with a child(ren) is a huge challenge but I’m always motivated by some alone time!

I definitely want in when you start the group! I just ordered this but it hasn’t arrived yet.
My biggest issue is food so HOPEFULLY the containers help. Sometimes I wish I were back at work because I snack ALL DAY LONG. Not healthy snacks either!

So smart that you took “before” photos! I’ve lost 34 pounds so far, and I am annoyed with myself that I didn’t take any before pictures. I started taking progress photos, but only during the last 10 lbs. Now that I can see progress in my body in just that small time frame, I wish I had the photos from 34 lbs ago!! Like you I don’t go to a gym and do all my workouts at home during nap time. It takes some scheduling, but it is definitely do-able. ๐
Good luck on the program. I am excited to see the success you have!
