Braylen,
Today you are 3 months old! Another month has come and gone just like that. I must say that every cliche has been true about having a baby. People said I would love you more than I ever thought possible. I do. People said that I wouldn’t get any sleep at first. I didn’t. People said time will fly by, you’ll blink and just like she grows up. I believe it. Time has flown by, it seems like I talk about that a lot because I am amazed at how quickly these 3 months have gone. But, you know what? These have been 3 jam packed months. Full of first smiles and laughs, full of cuddling, full of tiny little hands and feet kicking and playing, full of love. So time does fly by, that’s life. But around here we’ve been making the most out of every day with you. You still love to lay on your changing table and when people come over that’s the place to put you so we can show them how you smile and coo and so they can hear your sweet baby voice. And oh, how we love those sweet baby sounds.
At 3 months:
- Eating- you eat about every 3 hours, sometimes 2 1/2.
- Sleeping- you are the BEST sleeper and we love it! You go to bed around 10:00 and wake up between 6:30 and 7:00. We think this can be attributed to your “night time routine” you get a bath, get fed, then get swaddled (we love the SwaddleMe) and go to sleep on your own! You still sleep in the bassinet beside our bed.
- Still holding your head up better and better every day.
- You can grab some of your toys that hang from your kick and play. You love watching your mobile too. We got you a Bumbo seat and you sit in it sometimes you look to try to find the television and watch it (time to invest in some Baby Einstein)!
- You love taking a bath.
- You take a pacifier every time it is time to go to sleep, we have tried many different kinds but you only want the Soothie (newborn).
- We think you weigh about 12 1/2 pounds, but that may not be too accurate. Daddy measured you the other day and he says you’ve grown almost a 1/2 inch.
- You still wear a size 1 diaper and 0-3 month clothes.
- You still love to be held and talked to, now your a little more vocal and make the sweetest sounds back to us
- The biggest news? You’ve been on the Baby Wise schedule. Eat, play, sleep. It has been wonderful! You are so much more happy now that you take a few naps during the day. Sometimes they are short (30 minutes) but you make up for them by sleeping all night.
- You love to lock your legs and try to “stand up” when someone is holding you, just so you can see what’s going on.
- You kick your legs all the time. Sometimes when you are happy and sometimes right before you get mad and cry.
