Fourth of July Party Planning Tips

Let’s kick up the Fourth of July party planning a notch. Take a step back from the hot dogs and burgers and plastic checkered tablecloths. It doesn’t have to cost a ton to impress your guests, just a little attention to detail.  Here are a few ideas to take you party up a notch, without breaking the bank.

  1. Create a red, white and blue punch by layering drinks and serve it in a glass pitcher for a refreshing and patriotic drink.
  2. Add a bowl of mixed berries to the food table. It’s healthy and festive, so everyone wins. I like to include blueberries, black berries, and raspberries. You can also serve these in small individual cups, the clear plastic cups make a great choice. This instantly becomes party decor and food.
  3. Use a star cookie cutter to cut out pieces of watermelon, display them in a bowl with blueberries.
  4. Replace those boring, plastic straws with festive paper straws in red and blue. Also look for stars and stripes. You can find them just about anywhere and the colors and patterns are endless.
  5. Replace traditional serving dishes with galvanized metal or tin for a rustic look. It complements the red, white, and blue nicely.
  6. Make a big batch of homemade salsa and serve with white and blue corn tortilla chips.
  7. Place sparklers in a clear mason jar for plenty of fun when the sun goes down.
  8. Switch up boring hamburgers with a slider bar. Include amazing toppings like onion strings, bacon, avocado, and all of the usual fixings.
  9. Set up a cupcake decorating table for the kids to enjoy. Cupcakes, white icing and plenty of sprinkles will easily do the trick.

  3. I celebrate the 4th of July by going to the Lake not far from where I live and having a big picnic with the family and swim and watch the Fireworks over the Lake at night. It is so much fun and pretty!

  24. We pack up the cooler with drinks and snacks and head off to celebrate with Thomas Jefferson at the American Village in Montevallo, Alabama. It is so much fun and patriotic.

  62. My partner and I usually do the cliche cook out and soak in the swimming hole, weather permitting. Then, around 930pm, we head down to our secret spot where we can view the fireworks not a mile from our home without having to get into the crowds. We watch them from our car and then go home and go to bed! 😀

  74. I stay hone for the 4th of July as there is way too many people on the road for my driving. I like to go shopping for the great buys.
