I didn’t forget that we were in the middle of a home tour on each Tuesday and I just completely bailed on you. I’m waiting on curtains and finishing touches and as the rooms are completed I’ll be sharing them one by one.
One thing I was in desperate need of was a way to organize my jewelry. I have a small jewelry box for things of value but I have amassed quite the collection of costume jewelry. When I couldn’t find anything just right for me I drew a picture of what I wanted and passed it on to Allen.
This is the part where I tell you how incredible he is for seeing that my vision came together and for finishing it up at nearly 11:00 PM.
Two months post moving in I was finally able to unpack all of my jewelry and give it a new home.
There was a shelf on this wall in our closet but it was really in the way of the clothes hanging to the left. Allen just removed the shelf to create this space. I love that I was able to use a fun color for the frame. Since it’s tucked away in the closet I don’t have to worry about it not fitting in with the decor.
The necklaces now hang on the bottom of the shelf. Tangle free.
And if you’re look to organize your jewelry here is how I did it:
- Picture frame from Hobby Lobby with wire attached. The wire comes in a roll from Home Depot which means you could make a few to share. Attach it to the back with a staple gun.
- Allen drilled a small hole in the shelf and attached dowels for bracelets. The dowels are from the unfinished wood section at Hobby Lobby. They were cut and painted white for this project.
- Unfinished wooden shelf from Hobby Lobby. This shelf was cheap. I just spray painted it white.
- Drawer pulls from Hobby Lobby. They were 50% off this particular week and they ended up costing around 1.50 each. Just pre-drill holes in the shelf and add the pulls for hanging necklaces. You’ll also see the same pulls on top of each of the bracelet dowels to give it a more finished look.

You did such a great job and I’ve always loved it when people organize/display their jewelry like this. I wish I could but I have a very curious cat that would get into everything immediately so I have to keep it locked away 🙁
