Moving right along, July was really just as fun! Maybe even a tiny bit more fun because it included a trip to the beach.
We didn’t spend near enough time on the boat this summer. For some reason, summer was more packed than usual, but we did manage to soak up a few Saturdays on the lake and do a little skiing.
I’ll write a more detailed post about the beach (I know, I know don’t hold your breath), but we drove down on July 4th and spent a fun week in the sun! We spent another week getting all the sand out of those curls.
Judson spent plenty of time on his tractor. If he’s awake he wants to be outside, so we spend plenty of time in the sunshine.
Some time in July, BK requested a camping adventure in the backyard. While I think camping is fun and adventurous, we just weren’t adequately prepared and camping in 100% humidity seems like the least fun thing. So I pulled out this cute tent I had purchased at Target and we made smores and she slept in her tent for about a week. I promise to take her camping at some point, no worries. Actually, I promise Allen will definitely take her camping,
I’ll definitely go.
I might spend the night.
Maybe.
Judson took a few lake naps.
And I think we might just have to make this girls night a monthly event! We go too long without seeing each other, so monthly seems like the best idea ever. Susannah was in town, so that made it even better!
We hit up the splash pad with Elliott. Jud thinks his backwards hat makes him the coolest kid around.
BK and I saw Beauty and the Beast at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival with Kristin, Ella and Sophie. It was the most fun girls day. The play was amazing and we were so happy Kristin invited us to tag along. We were all so impressed with the entire play. The girls were adamant about CFA afterwards, but we managed to have a delicious Italian dinner after the play, and then milkshakes, of course.
The following Friday we took the kids to dinner and a movie. We saw The Secret Life of Pets and had Mexican food on the patio. If you haven’t seen this movie, it is so cute! My favorite kind of kids movie with the ability to hold my attention and thoroughly entertain the kids! This was definitely one of those, even Jud sat quietly and watched the whole movie. To put it into perspective, an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse doesn’t hold his attention.
And seriously? How pretty is this girl?
And friends, that was our July! We still have wedding and beach trip to cover, but I thought we would definitely never manage to catch up!
