Y’all! I have no idea why the last three posts have all revolved around the number 5. I mean, I am weird about numbers, but I promise this is strictly a coincidence. How about a little run down of what we’ve been up to lately?
ONE- Family Reading – We implemented some family reading time each evening before bedtime. We’re reading the same book, and we take turns reading it aloud, except Jud, of course (he just listens). We started with the The BFG , it’s probably one of my all-time favorites, and I wanted to introduce BK to the concept of reading the book before you watch the movie. We’ve moved on to and it is equally as good and keeps everyones attention, too!
And we went to the movies to catch the BFG recently, but when we arrived, I had checked the times for the wrong theater. Of, course. So we saw Storks instead and it was super cute!
TWO- reCreate. A couple of weekends back, I attended reCreate with Kristin and Beth. Can we talk about how amazing this conference was? The music and the speakers and the great food and fellowship was amazing. I can’t wait to go back next year. I’ve been thinking about the speakers and the words they said ever since. It was probably one of the best conferences I have ever attended. I keep hoping they will put some of the videos online so I can share them with friends.
THREE- Nashville. My favorite city, hands down. So when Allen called me the day before our anniversary and asked could he take me to Nashville for about 24 hours, I happily agreed. We found some amazing tacos at Bakersfield. Y’all. Go there, please. We had the queso, plus we sampled a variety of tacos and none of them disappointed. We headed down town to listen to some live music, but really, I’m more of a sit in a quiet spot and listen to live music, so we found something a little quieter for the evening. We woke up and headed to Biscuit Love for breakfast (you NEED their Chronic Bacon in your life, trust me).
And this is the only picture we managed to snap.
FOUR- Running. I hate to even post this, because my follow through may not be the best when it comes to anything cardio related. However, I’m actually loving it this time, which is something that I haven’t said before, so I’m hoping it sticks this time. Also, can we talk about how much I love my Apple Watch? It’s amazing and keeps up with my runs and times, but more than that? I can sync my playlist to the app and use Bluetooth headphones while running and I never have to carry my phone. Game. Changer.
FIVE- Beauty Counter. Are you using Beauty Counter products? I went to a party at my neighbors house recently and fell in love with the charcoal mask and oil. I’m going to give it a try. I’d love to replace all of our chemical-filled products with great options from Beauty Counter. Tell me if you have a favorite product that I need to try!

I love BC products. My favorites include the kids body wash, hydrate lotion, shampoo and the tint skin.
