If you haven’t yet, I’d love for you to fill out the survey (scroll to the bottom of that post linked). We’re going to talk about the results this week. I promise I’m listening and I’m already planning to make a few changes based on your responses.
So how has the first week of 2017 been for you?
It’s the busiest week of the year for me at work, school started back and we ended the week with a snow day (well, really it was just ice), so things were a little crazy. I’m hoping to hop right back in to a normal schedule this week and hopefully give you a better idea of what I ate everyday next Sunday (I’ll be posting recaps on Sunday morning). That is, if I get my act together on a weekly basis.
Here are a few things that we ate that always seem to hit the spot.
Teriyaki Beef and Broccoli over baked potatoes from the .
The always delicious, .
Y’all! This might be the best ever! Creole Jambalaya fro the .
And a breakfast casserole to get us through those busy weekday mornings. I divide this into 6 servings so it lasts 3-4 days around here. I love this Fiesta Breakfast Casserole and let me recommend skipping the taco seasoning and meat and using chorizo instead!
When I first did a round of Whole 30 (Judson was just a few months old) and it was so tough to find complaint pantry items. The struggle was real. And for the love, every single thing had added sugar or crazy preservatives. Now that Whole 30 is a household name and with that comes a huge variety of amazing sauces and spices, new products and delicious options for emergency snacks and on-the-go foods.
Each round, I discover something new and this has been no exception. I thought I’d share a few of my new favorites.
Nutpods – Super creamy and delicious, these are perfect for replacing cream in your coffee. They aren’t sweetened at all, so it’s not going to turn your black coffee into a White Chocolate Mocha, but if you’re missing the creaminess from your morning cup, these will help!
Maple Sea Salt RX bars – This is easily one of my top flavors and I can’t believe I waited so long to try it! Just be careful not to use this as a crutch for sugar. I like them as a pre-workout snack, and I usually only do 1/2.
Chomps – I actually discovered these last time, but I’m not sure if I ever blogged about them! They are great to have for emergencies and I also use them for pre/post workout snacks.
Primal Kitchen Dressing – When you need to change it up from your usual balsamic, this is the ticket!
Collagen Peptides – These are super cool! They promote hair, skin, and nail growth and there’s a ton of cool scientific research. My normal hair, skin and nail vitamins are out during Whole 30, so I think this is a good alternative.
– You will literally want to put this on everything!
Barney Butter Almond Butter – LOVE this almond butter, it is so smooth and delicious!
