It’s that time again, The Daily Dime linkup is back for August! The Daily Dime is all about a day in your life, take ten photos throughout the day then come back to link-up with us. The link will be live for two weeks for document yours and come back and link-up.
School is back in session (and I might be the only person I know who isn’t thrilled about this). Summer was way too quick, Judson and Braylen have the best time playing together on lazy summer days, and we just weren’t ready for those to end quite yet. Now it’s early mornings and packing lunch boxes and car rider lines. Enough complaining about school, I said all of that to say I’m documenting a day in our life now that school is officially back in session (whether I like it or not).
My mornings still look the same. My goal each week is to hit the 5:15 class at Orange Theory Monday-Friday. Sometimes something comes up and I have to squeeze my fifth day in on the weekend, but I still think Saturday and Sunday should be off days from the gym.
I had prepped a breakfast casserole the night before (I think I’ve made this one 4 times in the past month). It’s just crumbled and browned chorizo, roasted sweet potatoes (in Tessemae’s zesty ranch), about 9 beaten eggs and diced tomatoes and peppers. It’s been a go-to around here.
While breakfast is cooking I get Braylen up and ready for school. We get to carpool with our neighbors, so she rides with them in the mornings, and I do the afternoon pick-up line.
I need to be out the door by 8:00 (please notice that the landing for our steps serves as a good catch-all for all the the things my children need to take back upstairs).
How pretty is that eMeals kitchen? I made a shake for lunch and kept working right through the day. Are you doing those collagen peptides yet? I am loving them (even though for the first 4 months, I had them on auto-shipped and never used them, so I have a whole stock pile).
I know everyone probably feels this way, but I’m certain I have to drive the worst stretch of roadway to and from work, highway 280 is my nemesis and I’ve really been working on things to combat the slight rage I feel. Audio books have proved to be a welcome reprieve, and I’ve been listening to The Matchmaker this week.
After picking up Braylen from school, we head to piano lessons. This is only her second week and she loving them.
I had a package on the front porch, my Book of the Month Club package arrived and I can’t wait to dig into these titles. I was happy to see this box in one piece, since last month, Tucker got to it before I did and destroyed the book. Allen asked was it still readable and I replied, he ate chapters 1-11, so that’s a negative.
I just realized I don’t have a single picture of Judson from this day, but I promise he was around. He doesn’t love to be still for pictures, and I don’t push it.
Want some real proof he was never far away? While I was prepping dinner, I heard a loud noise and two sweet voices exclaim in unison: It was an accident! I’m a firm believer that fancy things have no business in my house with Judson, so this probably came from Target or Home Goods, we just cleaned it up and moved on with the evening.
While Kidz Bop was playing loudly, I cooked dinner and talked to my mom on the phone.
After dinner and baths and books, I snuck up to Braylen’s loft and read with her for a little while until she fell asleep.
Now, come link up with us so I can get my fix of day in the life posts. Its so easy!

I’ve been dying to read The Lying Game! Also — I love these types of posts; I’m thinking I’ll join in for the linkup next month!

What a full and fun day. I miss the lazy mornings the most from summer. We are not back in school quite yet but we are all ready for routine. That e-meals kitchen is beautiful. I have a hard time catching my son on camera too!

Can I tell you allthethings? 1. I really like that shirt you’re wearing. Super cute! 2. I need more information about your shake. 3. I see at least three books that I need to borrow when you’re done.

I love emeals too! I just recently signed back up. When I originally did it, there was no app and you printed out the meals for the week. I love it so much more with the app and being able to pull from multiple menu plans.
