Two days in a row, friends! Let's celebrate with a brain dump of sorts, here's what we've been up to lately: ONE- The end of the school year!! BK wrapped her first grade year, I can hardly believe I'll have a second grader come August. We're all so happy for more flexibility, less schedule, and so much summer fun! For memory sake, here's the first day of first grade... And the last... Crazy, right?! I'll never stop being in awe of just how fast time goes. TWO- I need to do a favorite beauty product round-up for you, but in fairness, I shouldn't go another day without telling about this CC cream (affiliate link). It is amazing!! Listen, I know $38 is … [Read more...]
meal prep monday: shrimp taco bowls
It's Monday! Our beach trip is less than two weeks away and I'm trying to undo all of those bad eating choices in the next 12 days. We all know that's never going to actually happen... But in the spirit of making better choices, I made some Shrimp Taco Bowls for lunch and they are delicious! I love anything that is reminiscent of Mexican food. Salsa, cilantro, the spice, all my favorite flavors. Except, it's not quite the same because we're missing the important things like queso and tortilla chips. I'll just wait until it's sweater weather to indulge in that cheesy goodness. ;) I also made a quick fat-free Greek yogurt and taco seasoning sauce to go on top, think sour … [Read more...]
shop the anthro sale!
I stopped in my local Anthropologie this week to pick up some tops and dresses for summer. I have a couple of beach trips and wanted some cute things to bring along. I tried on a ton of things and only ended up purchasing a few, but imagine my surprise when ALL of the sale items I tried on were an extra 40% off today. You know I rounded out my summer wardrobe with a few fun pieces! (affiliate links below) First up, these two shirts were not on sale, but how cute is this gingham top? I can't ever pass up Maeve shirts in fun colors and cuts (clearly, I can't wear a black bra with this shirt). I didn't have anything in this color so I thought it this fun button-down would be cute … [Read more...]
meal prep monday: buffalo chicken salads
Good morning, friends!! I'm starting a new series this week on the blog and it's all about meal prep. It won't necessarily be Whole 30 or Paleo every week, but it will be clean and quick and easy. Back before we went to Disney World, I went full-time at work (maybe that helps explain by blog absence). Even though I don't work traditional office hours, it still makes for a super busy week. I've found that when I don't have a plan for the week, I end up eating out and I don't always make the best choices. This week, we're starting with one of my favorite go-to lunches, buffalo chicken salads. I'll be using these containers for the meals and There is something … [Read more...]
mother’s day weekend recap
Let's take a minute to recap this past weekend, it was Mother's Day weekend after all. Which essentially means it wasn't much different than any other weekend. On Saturday, I helped host a baby tea for Brandon and Ava! How cute is she? And it was great to get to catch up with some of my high school friends I don't get to see often enough. I came back home and Allen had a lunch packed and sunscreen on BK and Jud and we headed straight to the lake. We didn't take the boat out near enough last summer, we even thought about selling it on several occasions this year, but really, there's nothing like a good day on the lake. I'm so glad we decided to keep it! The kids had a … [Read more...]
Judson’s Dinosaur Party
We celebrated Judson's third birthday party with his favorite thing in the whole wide world (besides me, of course), dinosaurs. I don't know when it happened, but sometime in the last year he fell in love with the prehistoric creatures. He even has an imaginary green dinosaur, he calls him Dino, and some days he runs away, and some days he's around the house, but he's always responsible for things going wrong. Me: Who broke sisters necklace? Judson: My green dinosaur did that! What started as a fascination, has turned into a full blown obsession that everyone feeds into, dinosaur shirts and toys and books galore. So a dinosaur themed party was a no-brainer. I have … [Read more...]

Braylen’s Fairy Garden Party
Y'all! I know I say this about every party we have, but this was one of my favorites!! I've been so excited to blog about this party! Braylen loves fairies and flowers, and a few months back I saw a fairy garden party at Sweetspire I knew she would be all about a fairy party of our own. And she totally was. Fair warning, this post has a ton of pictures, but I just couldn't narrow it down. We had two main party tables, one for food and cake and another for creating the fairy gardens. I'll link everything at the bottom of this post for easy access to all the supplies, if you want to recreate a similar fairy garden party for your little girl. I didn't get a great … [Read more...]
