Ideally, I like to do Disney in a whole week, two days for Magic Kingdom, a full day at the other three parks and an off day somewhere in the middle. Since we split our week up with a cruise, we had 5 full days for the parks so our off day ended up being more of a hop around and squeeze in a few favorites. It was really hot by this point in the week. So much for those 70-degree February days we had last year, the temperatures were hovering around 90 degrees at this point. tank / shorts / shoes We started the day at Epcot for Mission Space and Figment (per BK's request). And Jud started asking for a roller coaster around 10:00 AM. We tried … [Read more...]
a Disney “week in the life”: day 4 Hollywood Studios
I didn't intend to take a week off from the blog, but we're still trying to catch up from vacation and work. While I have a little time tonight and the house is quiet, I thought I'd recap our day at Hollywood Studios. I have SO much to share about the cruise, but I need to get through the parks and stay on track. Spoiler alert: The cruise trumped the parks. I know, I would have told you no way prior to our cruise, but we all think so now. Before we go there, let's talk about the fourth day of our trip, Hollywood Studios. I need to go ahead and throw something out there, I've never seen a Star Wars movie. I'm not against Star Wars, we've just never actually sat down and … [Read more...]
Daily Use of Curél Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer Helped End my Dry Skin
I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't have dry skin. It isn't a huge problem most of the time, but when the weather gets really hot or really cold or really dry, it's incredibly annoying. My skin is dry and itchy and no matter how many times I apply lotion, it never seems to get better. Curél asked 40 bloggers including me! about their experience with dry skin and I was surprised to see so many of us had the same answers. No matter where we live or what age, we're all affected by dry skin and it can be aggravating and sometimes downright embarrassing. It's also pretty telling that the majority of us would spend more time outside, if it weren't for dry … [Read more...]
a disney “week in the life”: day 3 Animal Kingdom
Monday morning brought us the hottest weather we've seen all week. I'm not sure how it happens, but every single time I've visited Disney, Animal Kingdom has been super hot. Like maybe they add a little heat to make it feel more like the African savanna. Let's talk about that bag I'm wearing. I can't say enough fantastic things about the Kavu bag. It's the best bag to have it Disney (or the zoo or the park, it's great for chasing kids around and still having all the necessities on hand). It comes in a huge variety of colors. shoes / shorts / shirt / We started our morning with a 9:45 reservation for breakfast at Tusker House. Their breakfast is insanely good, but … [Read more...]
a Disney “week in the life”: day 2 Magic Kingdom
Another day in the books, and this just happened to be one of the best days we've ever had at Disney. Starting out this morning, I didn't think that would be the case, the Princess 1/2 Marathon is this weekend and that made for some major traffic issues this morning. The crowd level today was high, way higher than I expected, but we played our Fast Passes just right and ended up doing way more than we anticipated. We had an early wake-up call because for breakfast at Magic Kingdom. shirt / pants / shoes Our morning started with breakfast at Be Our Guest at 9:15 (it was an 8:30 reservations, but traffic issues). I love Be Our Guest for any meal of the day, but it's fun to have a … [Read more...]
a disney “week in the life”: day 1 Epcot
I thought it would helpful to blog a little more about how our days go at Disney. I get plenty of questions about how we fit it all in or what it's like with little ones (especially a two-year-old). So for this years Disney recap, I'll be doing a more day in the life style post. What it looks like for us from wake to sleep and what we can and can't fit in a park day, how we manage things like long lines and Fast Passes. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll take care of those in a Q&A post when we get back home! We made it to our room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge around 2:00 AM, quickly unpacked and we were asleep by 3:30 AM. The alarm went off at 7:30, we … [Read more...]
what’s up wednesday
I'm linking up with a few of my favorite bloggers for . WHAT WERE EATING THIS WEEK We're in that week before vacation eat out too much phase (at least 3/4 of us are). I'm making quick and easy recipes and trying to eat as clean and healthy as possible. Did I tell you I bought an Instant Pot? It's amazing and the hype is legit. An overwhelming favorite is the beef stew from Nom Nom Paleo (we add carrots and potatoes). WHAT IM REMINISCING ABOUT I've been organizing pictures (for the basically the last 5 years I've been trying to complete this project). Watching videos of baby BK and Jud melt my heart. It takes me so long because I have to stop and watch … [Read more...]
a love day brain dump
I keep thinking I need to have everything caught up and in order before I post on here, but let's be honest, these off the cuff posts I can write in 30 minutes are my favorite. I don't love curated content or creating graphics in Photoshop, and your survey responses say you don't love that either. So here's to more of what you and I love in 2017. More stories and random ramblings, more writing, and less fuss. It's Valentines day, friends! ONE - I know, I know. There is a great selection of pre-made Valentine's at the store, but I don't get to be creative very often since packing up my classroom so we get crafty for Valentine's Day. Did I tell you that Judson is obsessed with … [Read more...]
