It doesn't matter what the occasion is, I always find myself wondering what I'll wear and (sometimes) stressing over that little question. Blissdom was no different, I wanted to dress cute and trendy for this (almost) all women's event. I have this irrational fear of having an Elle Woods moment. You know what I'm talking about, right? Where she shows up to the party dressed in costume and no one else is in costume. Now, I don't think I'll be going to any places or events dressed in costume, but I'm always afraid I'm going to walk in extremely underdressed or overdressed. Last Thursday, I boarded a plane bright and early and headed to Dallas for my second round of Blissdom. When I went last year, I didn't know very much about blogging, I didn't have any real goals for this blog, and blogging was a hobby for me. Jon Acuff opened up the conference last year and even though there were hundreds of other people in the audience, I felt like he was speaking straight to my fears and insecurities. I spent the rest of the trip pondering the things he said, and I came back with a better understanding of blogging. blissdom, a few things I’m packing
Last year, I wasn't sure about Blissdom. I stressed about packing and which breakout sessions I would attend each day. This year there is a slightly calmer version of myself getting my things together for the big trip. Okay, okay, I don't have a single thing together and I probably won't pack until late Wednesday night, but I will eventually get things together. My biggest advice to new attendees? Don't stress. I probably won't even finalize my session schedule until Thursday, at Blissdom. The ladies behind Blissdom work hard so it all falls seamlessly into place.
