We had the best trip to sunny Orlando to meet Mickey and his gang this past week. Early on, we decided that we wanted my mom to tag along for an extra set of hands, it’s always better to outnumber the children on a trip to Disney World, right?
Then, we invited Allen’s family and they decided to join us as well! It was so much fun being together and experiencing Disney World with some of our favorite people. BK was ecstatic to have grandparents and cousins along for the trip.
I can’t wait to share the memories throughout this week on the blog. I downloaded 742 photos yesterday, another batch from my phone, and we have over 500 on our Memory Maker. One blog post is never going to cut it for this trip. I’ll break it up into parks, and then round it off with a details post with our favorite tips, rides and places to dine.
We tend to stay in what I like to call the Disney bubble when we visit. We don’t venture outside of the parks, resort, or Downtown Disney (with the exception of two stores at the outlet mall on our way, hello Lululemon and new Ray Ban’s).
The most frequently asked question I received when planning this trip was, You’re taking Judson to Disney World?
Indeed.
We love traveling with BK and Jud, at just over a year old he’s traveled with us to the beach, a long weekend trip to Chattanooga, and now Disney World. Disney World was by far the easiest of the three. We debated on waiting until he was a little older before taking another trip to Disney, but I had to see it through BK’s eyes at this stage. The world is magical to her, she loves princesses and sparkle and dressing up and telling fairy tales. I couldn’t let this time pass us by without taking her to the most magical place on earth. I would go back and do it a hundred more times at this age, it was amazing.
Well, I would do the trip a hundred times over with the exception of losing my camera at Epcot (more on that to come) in the end, all is well, but there were definitely a few tears shed. Mainly over the fact the the memory card in the camera held some pretty important memories that weren’t housed on the hard drive. Major slacking on my part.
Even with the mishap, it is such a happy place for us!
We were on the road for about 30 minutes before we nailed down a date for our next trip. We have the fever, for sure.

Totally agree! We took ours at 18 months and it was so much fun! Vacations are some of my best childhood memories, I can’t imagine not taking my kids on lots as well.

We took our one year old to Disney (his brother was six) and we had the best time. It wasn’t bad at all. We leave in 66 days for our next trip and he’ll be four. I can’t wait to see what he thinks now!

I love it! It really is the best to take your kids when they are little and just amazed by the magic of it. And honestly Aria was easier when she was just over a year than she is now at 2.5. Babies love Disney too! Sorry you lost your camera!!!

I would definitely cry over the lost camera, though!

We stay in the Disney bubble too. When a friend wanted us to visit on our trip we added on to the beginning so we could see her before we got to Disney. I don’t leave it once I get there. I don’t want to!
