I’ve had a few questions about our trip and I want to try and answer them all in this post. If you have more, just leave them in the comments and I’ll answer those in the comments. I do have some more information I want to share about the dining plan, but when I tried to add it in this post, it was pretty overwhelming, so I’ll get that together soon.
How was Jud? I think I’ll put together a post with a few tips and tricks that we used and found helpful with a one-year-old, but I have to say, Jud was super easy on this trip. Sure, it meant we had to pack more stuff, and go a little slower, but I think it helped us enjoy our days a little more. It also helped tremendously that we took my mom with us to help with Jud and BK, an extra set of hands is always helpful.
Dining plan? I’m a big fan of the dining plan. I don’t think it saves a ton of money, but it’s nice to have that aspect of the trip paid for before the trip even begins. I have a post planned with some of the best places to go to get the most out of your plan. To me, it’s like pre-paying for your food while at Disney. I like not having to worry about budgeting for food on our trip and knowing that it is all taken care of when we get there.
Where did we stay? We stayed at the Art of Animation in a Nemo family suite and we had such a wonderful experience. I feel like the room was so much more spacious and way more comfortable than our last room at Caribbean Beach. The suites ensure you’ll be closer to the lobby, gift shop, food court, parking, buses, and pools. They sleep 6, have a separate master bed and bath and 2 bathrooms.
What shoes did I wear? I purchased a pair of Chaco’s for our last Disney trip and they have become my favorite shoe for wearing outside to the park or the zoo, and they never bother my feet, even with all the walking at Disney.
Stroller? We rented a stroller and had it delivered to our room. Our favorite is the BOB, so the Double BOB was a no brainer. Sure, it’s pretty bulky on the buses, but seriously 15 minutes of having to endure a big stroller on the bus is nothing compared to 8 plus hours of ease and conveineinve within the park. Those stroller are fantastic at maneuvering the crowds and even with two children sitting in the stroller, it still feel like you aren’t pushing anything. And, no, BK never rides in a stroller at home, but Disney World is a whole different ball game.
How was the weather in early May? It was great, but we’re used to very hot and humid weather. It wasn’t near as bad as mid-June, but not great enough to make me want to take another early May trip again. Next time, we’ll look into beginning of February for our trip for cooler temperatures.
Photo Pass? I’ll be the first to tell you that I am not a fan of posed photographs. I like candid shots of real moments, they’re the ones that always tug at my heart strings. However, the Photo Pass ensures that you’ll get plenty of photos of the whole group together and you’ll end up with plenty of photographs from the character meet and greets as well. We took advantage of it and we’ll probably do it again.
Fast Pass? The Fast Pass is your friend! Find out the most popular rides at the park and make those Fast Passes as soon as your reservations allow. You’ll be so happy that you did. Try and get your FP+ set up for the morning hours, so you’ll be able to go and make more reservations before the evening.

Good tips. I think the photopass is a great buy, esp if you buy it before your trip and save some money on it. One of our last trips the photographer got a cute shot of Aria and a princess, but I did not on my camera. But there was no way I paying that crazy price for one image.

Would you choose the Beasts Castle for breakfast or dinner? Was the experience about the same?

So glad you had a great trip! My daughter will be 22 months when we go in September and we are so excited. May I ask where you purchased the “Best Day Ever” shirts and your daughters monogram shirt with the Minnie Ears? Thanks so much and have a great day!

I would love to know your tips and tricks for taking a one year old. We are going in a few weeks and we will have a 14 month old. I am a little nervous about how she will do, any advice would be amazing!!
