Around here Saturdays (in the fall) are for football watching. It's just an understood. Our plans are going to be centered around what time Auburn or Alabama play and then the games we watch for the remaining hours in the day will be chosen. We always have friends over to watch the games. Sometimes a house full and other times just a couple of close friends. This morning (prior to game time), Allen put BK's big girl bed together. I can't explain to you how incredibly strange it looks to see a full size bed in place of her crib. I want to dig a little deeper for the fourth installment of the 31 Days series. If you're new here, I'm blogging about Simple Joys in our everyday life for 31 Days as part of the Nester's series. Tonight I want to talk about the simple joy I find in letting go of the moments of sheer parenting failure and recognizing that the good moments certainly outweigh the bad. 31 days of simple joys: day 3
Each morning I start my day out with a devotion from Jesus Calling. Erin recommended the book last year and it has been an integral part of day since I picked it up at LifeWay. Each day I feel like it is speaking the words I need to hear most. Some days I'm extremely convicted. Some days I'm humbled and thankful. No matter how I feel after reading my morning devotion, one thing is for sure, my day is always a little sweeter. This morning the verse at the bottom of the reading was Psalms 13:5, "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation."
