The idea of decorating is completely overwhelming to me. There are so many bare walls in our new house and when I think about what I need to complete the decorating process my mind goes in a million different directions. I decided I should probably slow down and take it one room at a time.
First up, the master bedroom. It was chosen by default because it has the fewest needs and it is on the main level. BK and I made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby today and I walked around picking things out and putting them back until her patience wore thin and she was asking for “Chick-a-lay, peeeease.” And we had to avoid the clock section like the plague because she decided that her daddy “really needs a clock.” Who knows why, but she really thought we should buy him a huge decorative wall clock. She said “I buy one for him,” but I eventually convinced her that he should come back and pick out his own clock.
I had a vision in my head but I wasn’t sure how it would actually look grouped together on the wall with the existing picture above our bed. I was happy to see it all come together with the help of a little Modge Podge.
The best part? It was inexpensive! I’m talking around $50 for this whole grouping!
1. Hobby Lobby frame. Regular $19.99, purchased at 40% off for $11.99.
2. Bible verse print from Nap Time Diaries on Etsy. Regular $12.00, purchased during her sale a few weeks ago for $7.20.
3. Scrap book paper, $.59 on a canvas (2 pack for $3.99). I used Modge Podge to adhere the scrapbook paper to the canvas.
4. 16×20 print, I already had this picture, it has always hung above our bed but to stay within the budget I researched the price for a 16×20 and it looks like Costco has a great price of only $5.99 for a print this size.
5. 16×20 basic black frame, I already had this frame but it was around $15.00 at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon.
6. Scrap book paper, $.59 on a canvas (2 pack for $3.99). I used Modge Podge to adhere the scrapbook paper to the canvas.
7. Hobby Lobby frame. Regular $14.99, purchase at 40% off for $8.99.
8. I cut this letter out of scrapbook paper and then framed it. ($.59 for scrapbook paper).
Wall grouping total price- $54.93

I think it came out great! I almost bought a whole new bedding set the other day from Macy’s because I’m ready for a change in my master bedroom… not sure what I want yet, though!
I love that grouping, though. Right now, we just have random framed art from paris in our bedroom that I got from a street vendor. But I would love to do something like you did!

Looks great! I get so excited to decorate on a budget. It’s like a game for me…what’s the least amount of money I can spend? Then I like to have people guess and watch their face when I tell them it was so much less! ๐

I love that Hobby Lobby is selling the knockoff Organic Bloom frames…I need some!
I have tried using modge podge with scrapbook paper and it always turns out bubbled. Any tips on how to avoid that?
