I’m back for another round of Fitness Friday. I bet you thought I abandoned this series, right? To be completely honest my diet has been horrible since Chattanooga, up until this past Sunday. I was logging into MFP but not following a strict diet. I had a moment or two weeks worth of moments of weakness(es). I could definitely tell a huge difference in the way I was feeling and I didn’t like it at all.
So I did a little detox of sorts this week, replacing several meals with Green Monster smoothies and I feel so much better. It’s back to clean eating for me. Wait, is Greek yogurt clean? Either way, I’m not giving that stuff up. And I’ve been drinking close to a gallon of water each day. Talk about not wanting to snack, the water has made a huge difference this week.
I make my Green Monsters using the Magic Bullet. A little ice, almond milk, a few tablespoons of vanilla Greek yogurt, a cup or two of spinach, strawberries and half of a banana. Blend it until it’s smooth and you get something that looks like this…
And don’t let it’s color fool you, it tastes just like a strawberry and banana smoothie. You can’t even taste the spinach. Yummy and refreshing on these hot summer days.
I’ve also been slacking on my gym time. This is something I plan on changing this week. I can’t believe the difference it makes and I don’t know how I went without eating healthy and exercising for so long.

I’ve really got to get serious about eating better & working out or I’ll never lose this baby weight (and she’ll be a year next week!) You have convinced me to try this green monster concoction! Does it keep you full until your next meal?

I will definitely have to that out! I’m not a big eater in the summer so that would be perfect for breakfast or lunch! Thanks for posting!

I need to get back on my eating better and exercise too. Love a good smoothie! It’s always so hard for me being home in the summer. All I want to do is just snack the day away!

Oh Jennifer- I hear you on this- I have been trying to stay on track so far and summer BBQ’s and upcoming vacation aren’t helping matters! you got this mama!

looooooove smoothies π You know, something that I found to be helpful for me is not to really follow any strict diets but to keep myself full by eating healthier foods. I don’t even crave icky snacks, eat junk, or feel any temptations (crazy…I know…but I swear it’s been working for almost 4 years now). And when I want something, I eat it, but that’s usually about once a month, tops.

I have never tried making one of those because I’m weirded out by it being green- but now I”m inspired to try one because you’re saying it tastes like a strawberry-banana smoothie. and now I want a magic bullet. π
