I remember when we were looking at houses and the one thing that could make or break the deal was the kitchen. You can change things in other rooms but kitchens come with built-in appliances and cabinetry, things that aren’t easy to rearrange. I knew from the beginning I would have to fall in love with the kitchen before I fell in love with the house.
I also remember the first time we looked at this house and I stood at the island and I knew this was the house for us. I could see years of cooking and entertaining in this kitchen, Braylen sitting at the desk doing her homework while I cooked dinner, I was in love.
And here we are, nearly 6 months since the first time we stepped foot in this house. Nearly 6 weeks since we closed on the house and I was right about the kitchen. It is definitely going to be a place where we make memories for years to come.
For the most part, I’m just going to let the pictures do the talking in this post.
The chalkboard came with us from the old house I added the large fork and spoon from Hobby Lobby to go on each side. You can find the chalkboard tutorial here.
I love this print from Naptime Diaries, one of my absolute favorite verses.

You have a BEAUTIFUL kitchen! Our new kitchen has white/cream cabinets, too and I just love how bright and breezy it is! I have so many memories in my parents kitchen growing up- it really is the heart of the home. When Mark and I shopped for houses, I was the same as you. Let me fall in love with the kitchen to see if I can fall in love with the house ๐
