We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and it went so smoothly. We had nearly 30 people in our house, but I didn’t have to cook all of the food. Each family member brought something different and we ended up with a ton of food. Which equals leftovers, which means I ate entirely too much on several occasions. My mom snapped this picture of all of the food on the island. Maybe a little excessive, but Thanksgiving only comes once a year. Since everyone brings their own signature dish we end up with a ton of yummy food on the table.
And of course, desserts! Butternut cake, banana pudding, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie bars, mini-apple pies and chocolate cakes and grape salad.
BK was the only child at our Thanksgiving, so she received plenty of attention. Of course, she loved all of the attention and food. We had Allen’s parents and my parents plus both sets of grandparents and some extended family and friends. I can’t tell you how much I love Thanksgiving, being with the people I love and all you have to do is cook something. It doesn’t take too much planning and while I love Christmas, Thanksgiving is far-less stressful.
I thought it was pretty special that BK had so many grandparents and great-grandparents here on Thanksgiving.
This season I am reminded just how special this family of mine is to me. How much they mean to me and how thankful I am each and every day to be able to spend it with the two of them. I enjoyed our long weekend together and I truly cherish these times. Life can change so quickly, so I really want to relish each and every single moment. The holiday season always serves a good reminder to love on those close to you a little more. The days get busy and it’s nice to slow down during this season.
But now that Thanksgiving is over, Christmas decorating is in full swing. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with the people you love! Here’s a little peak of the holiday decor around our house…

That is so cool that all of your family got together at one time and place and you didn’t have to go see all of them individually! Such a great idea!
