He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. -Matthew 28:6
As a Christians, Easter holds great worth. It is the day in which we celebrate a risen savior. I can’t imagine the sting of death and the pain that God must have felt on that fateful Friday and I’m thankful we serve a risen Savior. I love that verse above for so many reasons, but the words just as he said resonate deeply. We serve that same Lord, the one who rose just as he said. Today, we have that same hope. For us, it isn’t just one day each year, every day He is making provisions for us. If we only follow, there are promises for us and they will be fulfilled, just as he said. There is power in those four words.
We had a great Easter weekend full of church and festivities and family. On Saturday, our church has an Easter egg hunt at the park, this was the first year that Braylen hunted for eggs and really understood the concept. She wanted nothing to do with the real eggs, just the plastic eggs, in hopes of getting a prize.
On Saturday evening we dyed eggs at our house. I’ve been working on letting go of control, so I let her have her own fun with the eggs. She had such a great time and they turned out so pretty.
Of course, her Easter basket was full Sunday morning. Really, though? I could have only bought a princess wand and she would have been just as happy. Please notice the bed head below, it’s major.
Our family on Easter morning, it was a rainy Sunday morning and BK refuses to give a serious smile, we don’t fight it.
Another thing I’m not fighting these days? Wardrobe. She picked out her egg-hunting outfit. Lawson and Bailey (our niece and nephew) and Brayden (our neighbor) came to hunt eggs and eat lunch (along with the rest of the family) on Sunday. They had so much fun!
On Easter, we celebrate. We celebrate the fulfillment of those promised and the hope that we have through our risen Savior. I love that meaning that it holds and the time we get to spend at church on Easter Sunday. I love the time we spend with family after church and all of the fun things that Easter brings.
