It’s that time again, Five on Friday, and I’m linking up with Darci and friends to bring you another edition of this weekly roundup of random. Say that 5 times fast.
- We spontaneously decided to go to the beach again at the end of this month. We had some friends over for dinner, and we were reminiscing on our past beach trips, by the end of the night we had our calendars our and were coordinating dates. By the end of the week, we had one planned. We’re looking forward to a few relaxing days at the beach. BK wakes up and asks if we’re going to the beach every day. In other water-related news, BK starts swim lessons today. She isn’t afraid of the water, so I’m expecting a drama-free experience. I’ll be sure to give you the scoop once its all said and done.
- I don’t know about where you live, but it has done nothing but rain for the past week and a half. I mean rain every single day, then the sun will come out, and then it will rain again. I like rain, don’t get me wrong, but my three-year-old would rather be outside. So we sneak out for snow-cones when the rain stops, and try to pretend the humidity isn’t at 100%.
- Yesterday, I drove over to Atlanta for the day to celebrate with Courtney and friends. I’ll give you the whole scoop next week, but it was such a fun and encouraging time. Plus, I was able to meet a fantastic group of women. A huge thanks to Courtney for the fabulous brunch.
- After brunch, I went over to market with Ashley. I had a ton of fun looking at all of the upcoming lines and really seeing how market works. Ashley was so sweet to let me tag along and ask a million questions. We stopped by temporaries on our way out and found a little gem. Clean Couture has a line of natural products, cleaning product for the home and bath products for adults and children. Their products are packaged adorably and smell wonderful. I love the idea of a clean, simple and natural line of products that I can trust in my home.
- You know that play set? Well, I had Allen cut shapes out of wood on one side of the play set for a bean bag toss. I ordered bean bags from Etsy and made sure I ordered the most durable (based on the description) ones I could find. You know how I said it has been raining? Well, the bags were outside, not directly in the rain, but I guess the moisture in the air was enough to make them damp. Then one of them literally started growing this weird mold. I couldn’t figure it out. Naturally, I put the other bean bags in the washing machine to prevent any other bean bag causalities. Let’s just stop right here for a minute and think (this thinking part was the step I forgot when I actually put them in the washing machine). Hello, there are dried beans inside the BEAN bags, naturally the bean bags swelled in the washing machine. Such a fiasco. I threw them all away. And the weird mold isn’t so weird now that I remember that the bean bags had BEANS in them.

Ha! Love the bean bag story…we accidentally left our corn hole bags out one night after a get-together and then ended up going out of town, so by the time we came home, our bags were growing all sorts of funky stuff. It was hilarious and annoying at the same time!

Love the clean couture line. Such great packaging, look out Mrs. Meyers! ๐ Ugh, so annoying with the beanbags! I hate when I do stuff like that!

Oh no!! That’s funny, but sad at the same time. Guess you’ll be on the hunt for some new bean bags… There may be bags that are filled with another material you can find that are better for durability and the outdoors. So much fun to have another beach trip planned, can’t wait to read about it! I saw your instagram pics from your atlanta trip and it looked like so much fun, that brunch looked so adorable! Have a wonderful week! ๐

and speaking of the weather ~ i’m with you….i really don’t ever complain about rain but seriously?! enough already!! it started the 3rd and seems like it has rained every day since! luckily the last few days it clears up in the afternoon/evening so we can get out and do something but it is strange to have SO much rain!!

It has been raining a lot here, too! We need to get outside, and spend time at the pool!!!
So jealous that you get to go to the beach again! We couldn’t go this year, because I’m not allowed to travel after 30 weeks! So bummed!
