First, I want to tell you how excited I am that we are bringing Build ‘Em Up back, it’s one of my favorite series and it is always uplifting for me. Today we’re talking about women’s groups, you can check the links below and possibly connect with a group in your area, and be sure to check out Courtney, Kelly and Erin’s blog post today.
Let’s talk women’s groups, I’m sure there are tons in this area. I know you can go to the MOPS website and find all of the locations where the program is offered. Plus, tons of churches offer weekly and monthly women’s bible studies. We go to a small church, so our options tend to be very limited. I have a little confession, I don’t actually belong to a formal women’s group. It’s not that I’m lacking a desire to belong to one, it’s just that moving last year complicated things a bit.
One of my favorite groups of women I ever met with was a group of about 5 women, and we would meet once a week. We were all around the same age, all mothers and we had a desire to grow our walk with God. We went through a book, and it was such an amazing time. I can’t tell you how much I miss that group of women and sharing my heart with like-minded mothers each week. It came at a perfect time in my life, I was staying home with Braylen, and I was really new to the whole parenting thing, overwhelmed to be exact. I remember telling Allen one night that I needed some sort of Bible study with women, and how I had thought about getting friends together and trying to start one. Two days later, I received a text message from a friend, who had just started a Bible study and things fell into place so perfectly. It was one of those moments that God’s love and desire to see my needs met was obvious, I was shocked and my heart was overjoyed.
But, as life goes, a couple of us moved, I started teaching again. Things changed and that Bible study group wouldn’t work for anymore.
I’ve even thought about starting another Bible study group, I have so many friends I would love to get involved. It’s tough, because I have a group of friends that is spread out, they are busy, life is busy and in my heart I know that now is probably not the best time.
This has been on my heart for sometime and my prayer lately has been that I would find another group of women, like the first group I attended. A group of women who have a desireto grow in Christ and a deep love of His word.
And if that’s something that is on your heart, I would love to pray for you too.
If you’re looking for a mom’s group, try MOPS finder on their site, by clicking here.
I would love for you to link up below and share your groups, who knows, maybe you’re in my area and we could connect.
Just include your city and state in the link-up text.

You know, you could always come to our group!! I belong to a wonderful group of women who meet together in Chelsea on Wednesday nights from 6 to 8. We are starting a Beth Moore study in the fall and will be doing that 3 nights a month and a service project the fourth week of the month.

Wait, for some reason I thought you lived in Montgomery!! Crazy. I live right off of 280 too. I am hoping to tart hosting a group or rotate hosting soon. I hosted a great group of 5 when we lived in McCalla, but now that we’ve moved I’m sort of still in transition.
I’m planning a little fall play day now, time for kids to play and some moms I know to meet and hang out…. I’ll email you when I email everyone else!
I live in VHS, down the street from Briarwood. Are y’all close?

NOt a bible study, but have you ever considered starting a Moms Blog like we did in New Orleans? I truly have gained so much community from that group of ladies and have met so many great moms as a result!
