Today’s post is a great mix of a few great things I want to share with you.
The Spaghetti Shots
I’ve been reading an amazing story of a little girl named Brenna, who was born with a rare and very serious skin disease. Courtney writes her story beautifully on her blog, I love how her faith shines through this miraculous story. Not only is Courtney a talented writer, she is also a talented photographer. She wrote a great eBook, The Spaghetti Shots. Now, raise your hand if you have a fancy DSLR camera? Keep your hand up if you always shoot in manual. You can’t see me, but I’m raising my hand. I have a great DSLR and several fancy lenses that Allen so sweetly gifted me, but I shoot in manual all of the time.
In Courtney’s eBook, The Spaghetti Shots, she teaches how to use your DSLR (Canon or Nikon) to capture those special moments. I read the book over the weekend, and it is so easy to understand. I learned so many new things about my camera, and I think it’s something that all moms could learn a thing or two from.
The best part is the book is on sale right now through Amazon. You can get the book here for $2.99, just in time to take those last summer pictures and get ready for back to school pictures.
Build ‘Em Up
Build ‘Em Up is back! I’ve missed this little link-up with Erin, Kelly and Courtney.
1. Mark the topic/date on your calendar
2. Write about it. Your struggle, your tips, your successes however it might help another mom or woman.
3. Come to one of our sites and link up on that day. It will make sense when you see it a link up or linky is not hard just copy and paste the URL of your blog post on the day of our Build Em Up days. Youll see the others start doing it. Email with questions.
4. Communicate and get involved by commenting and bouncing around the other posts that go up that day. Its fun!
So get ready for next Tuesday, August 6th:
Call ALL women’s groups…
If you are looking for a great womens group blog about your needs and be sure to put your CITY, ST in the title. If you have a moms group or ladies group you love blog about it and put the CITY, ST in your blog post TITLE. I am hoping we can make some exciting matches and build great community.
Awareness for PKD
My neighbor told me about a friend of hers who has a son recently diagnosed with PKD. PKD is Polycystic Kidney Disease and can lead to kidney failure, dialysis and a transplant. It is a life-threatening genetic disease and affects many people, regardless of their age. The most devastating news is the fact that there is no cure or treatment for PKD. I can’t imagine what this sweet family must be going through with their son being diagnosed with PKD at just four years old, but we can help.
You can click here to purchase a survival bracelet or make a donation to help raise money for research. I urge you to check out his story and say a prayer for this family.
You can “like” Crusade for Cures and keep up with Honor on Facebook.

What a great idea for an ebook! I don’t know how many moms I see at parks and zoos with fancy DSLR’s that are probably all shooting in auto (myself included).

Thank you Esther, I hope you find it helpful!
