Today was a much needed off day for me. Honestly, it could not have come at a more perfect time. This lady? Well, she’s tired. So very tired and today was a much needed, sleep-in, have a careless day with my favorite girl, and feel better about the million things I need to do, kind of day.
We started off at Chick-fil-a, that’s our favorite if you haven’t figured that out yet. We also made a quick run to Target to find some cute Halloween pajamas. The deadline has obviously passed, just in case you’re wondering. There were none to be found, unless your wee-one can squeeze into the oh-so-cute My First Halloween variety.
After lunch, we went to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, basically the only thing playing that I knew she would be interested in watching.
Turns out, we were the only two seeing the movie, it was a fun little surprise to be the only two in theater. We watched the movie (it’s actually pretty cute) and chowed down on the goodness that is, movie theater popcorn.
She thanked me when we were leaving and said, you know, you’re a really good friend to bring me here.
I haven’t splurged on a single PSL this season. If you see Starbucks quarterly report and those numbers are down, it probably has something to do with the fact that I’m not drinking one every chance I get. I’ve actually only had Starbucks once this pregnancy. If you know me, you know just how crazy that sounds. I miss caffeine, that’s for sure. I opted for a Pumpkin Pie blizzard from Dairy Queen instead, it did a great job of satisfying my pumpkin craving.
I cooked the copycat version of Johnny Carino’s Bow Tie Festival and it was enjoyed by all. I even made BK a festive lunch to take to school tomorrow. I just might be getting some of my energy back. I’ll let you know the verdict on that tomorrow, when I go back to work.

CFA is our favorite too.
And *gasp*! No PSL’s yet!? I remember giving up Starbuck’s in the beginning of my pregnancy, but that wasn’t during PSL season. I’m sure whatever part you’ve been doing avoiding, I’ve been doing boosting their stock price.

Oh good! Glad someone can help pick up my slack ๐ I’ll probably start drinking some caffeine later on, but I just feel so stinkin’ guilty right now ๐

That is the sweetest, most adorable thing that she said to you!! I love y’all’s mother/daughter relationship dynamic! Cute lunch. Hope to hear that your energy returns soon, I can’t imagine how that must feel!

Oh my goodness! “You know, you’re a really good friend to bring me here.” That is just the sweetest thing ever! It just melts my heart to hear my daughter say things like that too. It drives home the fact that even though they might be too young to remember that particular moment/outing, they are definitely going to remember the time we took to always make them feel special and loved.
Jennifer says
So sweet and you’re exactly right, thanks for the reminder ๐

I am loving your series this October, I really think I may do something similar next October! I am curious about her lunch, is she going to eat her mummy hot dog cold or does the school let her warm it up? Love the lunch idea!
Jennifer says
Thank you so much! And they’ll take care of warming it up (if she wants it that way) sometimes she just eats things cold (yuck, I know!)
Anna says

I remember being so tired during my first trimester. I would come home everyday after school and take a nap! So glad you’re starting your second trimester. Hope you get some of your energy back! ๐
So glad you and BK had a great day!
