Three days behind. It didn’t slip up on me, but I just didn’t sit down to the computer one time this weekend. It’s nice to be somewhat unplugged every once in a while.
Friday night we headed to Allen’s alma mater to watch the Wolves play their homecoming game. Actually, there was a more special reason we were attending this game, our niece Bailey was a kindergarten homecoming representative and she had the opportunity to be introduced at the game and walk on the field. It was the sweetest thing.
I always thought I grew up in a small town and went to a small high school, until I met Allen. The school is K-12, and while it is growing steadily now, he graduated with about 20 other people. And no, it isn’t a private school. It’s really neat to see how they’ve grown, we actually went to their first game played at their own field a couple of years back. When Allen was in school they borrowed a field from a nearby school.
We stayed until half-time, Braylen cheered with Reese during the whole game.
And I actually sat down and did a little meal-planning Friday evening. Here’s to eating out less this week.
I went to Pure Barre first thing Saturday morning. I’ll say this a million times, I never want to get up and actually go, but I always feel better that I do. I treated myself to a little Starbucks after I finished the workout.
We settled in for a lazy day of football watching a tea-party playing, I made the knock-off version of Dixie Stampede’s Creamy Vegetable Soup. It was every bit as good as I remembered. This, my friends, is what pregnancy does to me.
I told Allen we could stay home the whole day, but as I was cleaning baseboards in the living room (because I can’t sit still), I decided that we needed to go and purchase a rug for the living room. Right at that moment. I found one that works at Home Goods and I’m happy to finally see a rug cover the big empty space in the living room. It feels more cozy.
After church today, we celebrated Chase’s birthday. My baby brother turned 21 last week. It absolutely blows my mind that he can actually be that old. I feel like he’s still the younger brother that I’m talking into doing things like sticking his head in the toilet, or trading hime two quarters for one dollar (because I convinced him that two is better than one). I really did those things, not my finest moments. I think it made him a stronger person today, I don’t wish my older sister antics on baby #2, that’s for sure. I’ll keep a close eye on BK.
And I would have an excellent picture of BK helping Chase blow out his candles if I wouldn’t have ended with the one below. Because apparently my card was full and I had no idea. BK is staying with my parents tonight, I should really go do something productive, but I’m probably just going to sleep.

I’m loling at the things you did to your little brother. I am 3 years older than my little brother and did the exact same things. One of my personal favorites was convincing him, with an enormous backstory and all, that we were actually related to the people from the stock photos in picture frames.
Oh, big sisters.
