How Far Along: 18 weeks
Size of baby: Baby #2 is the size of a sweet potato
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m not even going there. I’m probably going to be in some trouble at my doctors appointment this week.
Maternity Clothes: Well. I had a very unsuccessful trip to Gap over the weekend. I was just about in tears over the fact that I couldn’t find any jeans to wear that I liked or that actually fit me correctly. I’m pregnant, so I cry over pretty much anything, so don’t hold that against me. I finally ended up finding some from Destination Maternity. I went with a designer brand, which I swore I wouldn’t do since I won’t be wearing them that long. But, when I put the jeans on, I knew I had to have them. I ended up with the AG brand and I am one satisfied pregnant girl, I actually liked them better than my beloved Seven’s. Who knew?
Gender: We’ll know this week!! I have so many emotions leading up to the big ultrasound. A bit of fear of the unknown since it’s also a big deal, anatomy wise.
Movement: I’ve had what I think might be movement, but I’m not 100% sure. It isn’t consistent so I’m thinking that’s still a no.
Sleep: is good. I wish I could do with a little less of it, I’m used to getting things done early in the morning.
What I miss: Just vain things like being able to pick out anything in my closet and wear it.
Cravings: My cravings have actually been healthy things like a big salad with Olive Garden dressing or a smoothie. There is one vice and that is the Starbucks Artisan breakfast sandwich. Oh my goodness. I picked two up (one for Allen, one for me) after Pure Barre the other morning and seriously wished I could have eaten his too. That monster appetite is crazy, and I do my best to control it.
Symptoms: Im really feeling good in this second trimester, cruising to the uncomfortable third, so Ill take this easy time as long as I can get it.
Best Moment this week: Thanksgiving with my family. Everyone came to our house and it was so nice to have everyone under one roof. And I completed the 20 Class Challenge at Pure Barre on Friday morning. I didn’t exercise at all with Braylen (except for the occasional walking on the treadmill), or watch what I ate, and I had some major body image issues with my post-pregnancy body. I vowed to make this time around a little different.

I too purchased a pair of AG maternity jeans and LOVED them. And I’m a total convert. I bought two pairs post baby too and am still loving them. I do realize you don’t wear maternity clothes that long, but I feel that you have to have a few key pieces that make you feel good (& normal!). So glad everything is going well, Jennifer, and I’m excited to hear about the gender news. (It’s fun either way, isn’t it?!)

Love your outfit! I especially love the boots–I need some like those. Have you looked at ASOS for maternity stuff? I found a lot of cute stuff for not too much.

I seriously doubt you’re in trouble with your weight! We wouldn’t know any difference if you didn’t have your hands there! But I get why you’re concerned if you struggled with it last time. I’ve been wearing the same pair of jeans for weeks (and wearing PJs while I wash them haha) because they are the only ones that don’t sag horribly! They’re still just ok, so if there’s a next baby I would consider shelling out more money for jeans that I was actually comfortable in. I really only put them on when I leave the house because I hate yanking them up all day!

I am a week behind you (17 weeks this past Sunday) and we got to find out over Thanksging weekend. My mom is a radiologist, so we went to her office Saturday. We are having a second boy..which I sort of suspected only because I don’t look like I’m pregnant – just look like I ate too many donuts around the middle. And that’s exactly how it was with my first boy. I was sick with both, but much sicker with the first! Best wishes at the big reveal!!!
