It’s been quite some time since I gave you a weekend recap post. This was really one of our last weekends with nothing to do before the baby comes, we’ll be on vacation next weekend (so maybe that counts too?), but then the weekends quickly fill with things like baby showers and birthday parties (yes, she’s turning four two weeks before the baby comes, I may be an emotional wreck at that point).
And Allen’s work schedule has been crazy since around Thanksgiving. What started out as a busy season before the holidays (everyone wants their countertops in before the holidays), just never slowed down. I’m used to him getting up early and getting home around the same time I do, so these late nights have definitely been an adjustment. I keep joking that I have to plan a vacation or have a baby to actually get to see him. We just laugh about it, but really it’s an incredible blessing and I can’t complain.
When he came home at decent time on Friday night, we headed out for dinner and bowling. The always independent BK, insisted on doing it all herself. There was a group of experienced bowlers beside us and she tried her hardest to mimic the way they were bowling. We laughed so hard at her, we were still laughing when we came home, I had to pull the videos up again before we went to bed. I posted two on Instagram, here and here.
Allen worked about half the day on Saturday, we all went to lunch when he came home. I needed to grocery shop, but after lunch he and BK took the list and I went for a mani/pedi. It was just what I needed, I have a fun spring color on my toes and nails now, bring on the warm weather!
We celebrated Brayden’s birthday with a little dinner and cake on Saturday night.
While shopping, Allen let BK pick out a nail color since she was so concerned I was getting my nails painted. About 30 minutes past her bedtime on Saturday night we were in the kitchen painting nails, and this is the look I got when Allen realized I was taking a picture.
So here we are, back to Monday and I’m counting down the days until Friday. Friday evening marks the start of Spring Break and a quick little trip for the last time as a family of three. That sounds crazy, but we’re just a little over a month out from meeting the newest addition.

we have been toying with the idea of taking Andrew bowling one of these days. Did you know that kids can bowl free in the summer? there is a site called “kidsbowlfree” where you can look up alleys in your area that may offer it! ๐

It sounds like you had a great weekend! The boys love to go bowling and it’s so fun to watch them. They’re pretty independent, too!

I love a dad that can get down with the girly stuff. ๐
At our house, my husband is the master of braiding. He looked up a how-to video on YouTube once and since then he has been in high demand.
Enjoy your vacation! I admit I am jealous. I live in Iowa, and I am SO over this winter. I swear I have been sick every other week since December. Come on spring!

I love that “I love you to pieces” wreath, I may have to get my class to make that for Mother’s Day.
