One of my resolutions or goals for the year is always to send more snail mail. Is there anything better than opening the mail box to a sweet note from a friend or having a sweet package arrive at your doorstep?
I know it’s half-way through the year, but stay with me here, I’m making good on that resolution and starting a new series on the blog. Each month, I’m going to choose a holiday or an occasion and put together a box full of goodies to send to friends, a celebrate the occasion box.
It’s a neat way to celebrate with friends that live miles away. I can’t wait for my friends to get their package in the mail this week, I think it’ll add a little cheer to their holiday.
Let’s take a peek at what will be inside the boxes:
Each box had some variation of the above items:
- Flags
- Cupcake picks
- Sparklers
- Pop-Its
- Cupcake Holders
- Sunglasses
- Festive Straws
I picked all of these items up from Hobby Lobby, with the exception of the Sparklers and Pop-It’s which I ordered online.
I just put everything in a box with some fun red, white, and blue filler and packaged it for delivery. Through my extensive searching I learned that sparklers could be shipped UPS ground, just not overseas or by air. And duh, how did they get to my house to begin with? ๐
You can pick up all of these fun things at your local craft store, Target, or Wal Mart and you still have time to send a little Fourth love to your friends.

I love this idea! I’ve sent Sunshine boxes before and to this day, the receiver talks about how much it brightened their day.
