I put the finishing touches on the nursery this week, I was so happy to see it all come together. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to incorporate blues and grays and use geometric patterns. Around Christmastime, we ordered most of the furniture, the bedding, and Allen painted the room. For the most part, the nursery has been close to complete for several months now.
I may add other things in the future, I have plans for a shadow box with his hospital things and coming home outfit, but for now it’s just the way I imagined.
Let’s take a peek inside our little Jud’s nursery…
(I’m going to let the photos do most of the talking, details at the end of the post.)
This room has a huge window, before I even knew we were having a baby, I always envisioned a sweet rocking chair under that window. The room already had a chair rail and I didn’t want to be too bold in my paint color choices. I decided to match the bottom part to the trim and the top of the wall to the blue in the bedding.
I absolutely love the look of the plantation shutters in our home, and I knew that I didn’t want to cover them up with window treatments. Now that the nursery is complete, I don’t regret that at all, I still love the way they look and what they add to the room.

His room turned out amazing! I love the personal touches of his initials and photos. But what I loved the most was the sign above his crib.
I immediately logged on to Etsy to see what else they had to offer. And of course I had to favorite their store for future reference. I just LOVE beautiful stuff like that! I have an all-time favorite hymn I would love to have in my home. I hinted to the hubby about how they make custom orders…. 🙂 It’s pricey for what it is, but when it is a message like that that you will hang for years and years to come, it is worth it.
