It’s been a while since I blogged about Stitch Fix, but if it’s possible I love it even more now than I did when I first started about 2 years ago. With the exception of when I was, for lack of a better word, huge (pregnant with Jud) and nothing fit me correctly, I have consistently received boxes once or twice each month. (At the time they didn’t have a maternity option.)
Let’s break this down. What exactly do I mean by fix? Its a box put together by a stylish (based on your profile) and it includes 5 different items.
The initial cost of the box is $20, BUT you can use that $20 as a credit if you chose to keep at least one thing from the box. The box also comes with a prepaid postage envelope to ship back the things you dont like. So, free shipping and free returns, and you only lose the 20 bucks if you dont like a single thing in the box. The odds are in your favor, at least mine were.
Here’s the thing, I usually look at the calendar to see what I have coming up and send my stylists a note. It’s fantastic to be able to say, hey, we have a wedding at the end of the month, it’s outside and casual . 9 times out of 10, I can count on something for the occasion and not spend time running from store to store to find something.
You’ll have to excuse the photos from my latest box. Allen usually plays photographer (he’s a great sport), but we just couldn’t coordinate our schedules this past week. So a selection of bathroom mirror selfies is all I have for you.
First up, this navy color block dress, let me just say, I want to live in this dress! I put it on and instantly knew it would be a keeper.
Let’s talk about this skirt and top (items #2 and #3).That skirt was super flattering. Like I thought maybe I can skip Whole 30 and just wear this skirt every day. Here’s the thing, I sent it back. I just couldn’t justify that skirt hanging in my closet. I couldn’t think of enough places I could wear it, so I packed it up and sent it back.
I sent the top back too, only because I’m overflowing with black tops, I have them for all occasions.
Item #4 was the shirt I paired with the skirt below. It almost made me keep the skirt, but I didn’t, and the shirt was super wrinkled within just a few minutes. Once again, just doesn’t work for this season of my life. However, I loved trying things outside my normal “box” and these were great options.
You can’t see it very well, but I’m wearing the cuff (Item #5) in the above picture. It is cute and trendy and I always love added a little jewelry to my collection.
If you’re keeping score, I kept 2/5 for this box. I always keep something, even if it’s just a bag or accessory, which makes my Stitch Fix free in shopping math terms. I get the initial $20 back and ship everything else back for free.
