I should tell you that I’m fully back in the reading camp. Reading will always be my favorite and I make no apologies for that fact. Did I ever tell you I basically read our entire library in elementary school? Every grade had a color-coded section and each year I read every single book for my color. Ask Allen, he made fun of my trophies.
This months reads:
by Rainbow Rowell- I read this book on vacation, and I really enjoyed everything about the book. I loved the characters and the ending. lent me her copy and I must say, I loved having the book in my hands to read. I usually read on my phone or my kindle, but I forget how much I love holding the actual book. Back to the book, I’ll admit it was a little slow for me, I wanted Georgie’s character to develop a little more, but once I got what I wanted from her in the end, I changed my tune. I also found Georgie’s job completely fascinating. Overall, the book was great, it was actually my first book by Rowell and it made me want to read more from her. I feel like she has a way of making the characters seem authentic, they come to life on the pages.
From Scratch by Rachel Goodman- I actually read Rachel’s blog, Make Mine A Mojito way back when I first started blogging. I always loved her writing style, when she announced her book deal I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy. The book didn’t disappoint, it was a great summer read. If you know me, you know it’s rare that I sit still, but I actually held Jud during an entire nap and devoured this book. Nick and Lillie had me completely invested throughout the book, and the foodie twist was full of charm. I loved their separate journeys of finding themselves and the ending it led them to. The only thing I was left desiring in the end was the recipe for Lillie’s Summer Peach Cobbler.
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell- I’m in the minority of basically of everyone I know, but I didn’t absolutely love this book. The writing was fantastic, the character development was superb, the elements were completely there, but I didn’t completely love the characters. Or maybe I liked the characters, but I didn’t completely love their story. I’ve really thought hard about what I didn’t love, and maybe it just wasn’t believable to me, two teenagers, star-crossed lovers, it all falls into place. I guess that’s teenage love. Overall, I would recommend the book, you’ll probably love it, but there was just something about it that wasn’t my favorite. I know, worst review ever. Read it and tell me what you think.
What are you reading right now?

I totally agree with Eleanor and park except I would go so far as to say I HATED it.
I just finished reading “The Group” by Mary McCarthy and “Eight Hundred Grapes” by Laura Dave. Definitely recommend grapes but I struggled to get through group.
