Once upon a time, I used to focus on fitness related things on Friday, the new diet I was on or a healthy recipe. Like many of my best laid plans on this blog, I never followed through with them. I know, I know, I have a tendency to quickly jump on a band wagon without giving the plan for follow through much thought. The first step is admittance, right?
I know you know that I love Stephen Covey. He’s big on goals, but he also teaches goals can’t be flippant ideas that we think we might would like to accomplish, eventually. Instead, he instructs you to set clear, measurable goals, monitor the process, keep your self in check, and never lose sight of the goal. The smallest part is speaking the goal out loud, but what will you actually do to get there? That’s where the real work comes.
I signed up for a new gym on whim a couple of weeks ago. As it would turn out, I signed up just in time for their 90 day Fall challenge. Of course, I jumped right in and signed up for the challenge. Thankfully, I had about a week to think about the plan for this challenge, to set some clear and measurable goals, and to eat whatever I wanted (and please believe, I did).
The great part about the challenge is that it measure body fat, not pounds. For the first time since I can remember, I put the scale away And the past few weeks have been fantastic. I’ve been going to the gym about 5 days out of the week. Now if I can just get my eating to match.
So how about a Friday favorites dedicated to fitness?
ONE- Cocotein– I’m a huge fan of Isopure, Zero Carb and this protein drink is made by the same company. It is seriously delicious! It’s like a refreshing treat each and every time I finish a workout.
TWO- Nike Tempo shorts– These are my absolute favorites to wear to the gym (or to the grocery store, or anywhere). I could seriously live in them.
THREE- Fit Bit Flex HR– Obviously, I’ve been living under a rock, but the gym highly recommends heart rate training, so I finally purchased a Fit Bit. It is my new best friend. I’m constantly challenging myself to more steps, or calories burned. I also love that it tracks my sleep, which is something else I’ve been working on lately. I am sold on this little bracelet.
FOUR- Can I talk about bras on my little piece of the internet? If not, I’m definitely breaking the rules for this one. If you need a great supportive sports bra, I promise you will not find a better one than the Knockout from Victorias Secret. Hands-down, the only one I’ll wear to workout. Period. It’s a little pricey, but I promise it’s worth every penny. I just closed my eyes and swiped the card and it’s one purchase I don’t regret.
Do you have favorite workout gear?

I got a fit bit a few months ago and I absolutely love it! I don’t hit my goals everyday, but it has for sure kept me focus on my steps and calories each day.
