I have a super easy and fun project for you today! Seriously, it took us all of 5 minutes to complete this precious Christmas tile and I’ll cherish it forever. We’re even making a few extra for grandparents. I love a good keepsake project, especially now that I have children of my own, I find myself wanting to preserve the little things from these younger years and pull them back out one day when they’re grown. Even now, looking back on things my daughter made just a few short years ago makes me feel incredibly nostalgic about those days of tiny hands and feet.
Here’s what you’ll need for this project:
- ceramic tile (you can pick these up from Home Depot or Lowe’s, they’re super inexpensive)
- black Sharpie marker
- paint (we used red, green, and yellow)
Start by writing the date and your childs name on the tile using the Sharpie marker. Then, starting on a diagonal, draw a line (this will be your string of lights, so make it funky). Don’t stress over this part, just add a few loops and a connect the line from corner to corner.
Next, start stamping your childs fingerprints onto the strand of lights.
We just did one color at a time until we filled the entire length of the light strand.
When you’re finished and the paint has dried, spray the finished product with a light coat clear paint to keep it from chipping.
I absolutely love how easy this little project was to complete from start to finish! It makes a great gift and keepsake for years to come!
