I’m going to get these recaps finished up this week. Hold me to it. Okay?
So here we are, day 3 or Tuesday of our trip. We woke up bright and early to head to Magic Kingdom for a special breakfast at the castle. I couldn’t get a reservation to get in before the park opened on this day, but we did get to see the rope drop. Would you think I was a total dork if I told you the rope drop totally made my eyes a little misty? Because I am and it did.
Once inside, we had a little time to stop by Castle Couture to get a little pixy dust before breakfast.
And a little time for a photo outside of the castle.
Then we were in for breakfast and the parade of princesses began. I’ve always wondered how you get those amazing window seats that overlook Fantasyland. I’m happy to report that we had one of those tables and we did absolutely nothing special, so I’m assuming that would be luck of the draw? Either way, we felt pretty lucky to be eating in the castle and overlooking the kingdom. I’m not sure our day couldn’t have started any better.
After breakfast, I had made reservations to try out the League of Pirates. BK isn’t at all interested in being a pirate, but I thought the mermaid option would be fun. She had already declined a second trip to Bippity Boppity Boutique, her exact response was, that’s where you go to get turned into a princess, I already went there, and I’m already a princess. No problem.
There are no similarities (except for getting dressed up). This is like hardcore pirate, anti-princess domain. One person even told her she couldn’t be a princess and pirate. She was all, actually you can be whatever you want to be, you can be as many things as you want, even in the same day.
So no one tried to convince her that pirates or pirate mermaids were superior after that. Don’t get me wrong, she loved having her face painted, but the experience just wasn’t one of her favorites.
You know what was a favorite? Space Mountain! Last year, I thought she was tall enough, but she barely missed the mark. She was so excited to be tall enough this year. We rode it twice. We definitely got a few side eyes in line, she’s pretty tiny so I think it makes her look younger than she really is, we even had a few people mention that there was a height requirement and she might not make it.
Speaking of rides, she’s a bit of an adventure seeker.
Jud continued his daily park nap and we took turns riding rides with BK while he was snoozing. We grabbed huge late lunch at Pecos Bills while Jud slept, and took a break from the heat and crowds.
We spent a little time in Fantasyland and Adventureland before heading back to the room early. The crowds were pretty heavy (for February, still nothing in comparison to May or June), so we hung out at the room for the evening to get a little rest before our next big day!
