Is it too late to recap Easter? I hope not, because this is going to be the week of recaps on the blog. Easter, birthday parties, end of the year celebrations at school. Judson had a cast and my brother got married, Braylen made the front page of our local newspaper with her cookie making venture. So many things to catch you up on! I apologize for the lack of important life events that have yet to grace the blog.
Let’s start with Easter and move forward, shall we?
First, let’s talk about these ombre eggs in pretty glass containers. I bought those eggs that are fake, but just as easy to dye (or so the box says). That’s not entirely the truth. I ended up painting these with acrylic paint because they aren’t at all dyeable, they don’t hold color well AND they float. The acrylic paint actually worked really well, and they dried super quick, so it wasn’t totally a wash.
We hosted a church Easter egg hunt at our house on the Saturday before Easter. It was the perfect day and I’m so glad we were able to have a big Easter egg hunt this day because Sunday was dreary and rainy.
We woke up on Easter morning to fun little Easter baskets. It really didn’t matter what was in the baskets, because there were two little chocolate bunnies that the kids found quickly and then devoured for breakfast.
We dressed up in our Sunday best on Easter morning and headed off to church. The day was dreary and cloudy and rainy, but we did snap a quick picture before the humidity took control of our hair.
We had both sides of our families over for Easter. That’s how major holidays work around here, it’s like a mini family reunion every holiday and we love it so much. We get to stay in one place and eat delicious foods and fellowship with so many of our favorite people. And my children spend the entire day being spoiled rotten and handed off from person to person.
We did manage to hide a few prize eggs when the rain let up for a little while.
And these two? Could they be any cuter? I am obsessed with those sweet baby curls and the more dreary the weather, the more pretty the curls.
And I had to snap a picture of BK’s outfit for the day. The necklace and rain boots and her camera case that’s doubling as a cross-body bag. Just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
