Shortly after we celebrated Braylens sixth birthday (just two short weeks, to be exact), we celebrated Judson’s second birthday. Having two April birthdays makes for a busy month. I initially wanted to do a big joint party, but when Braylen played the Chuck’E’Cheese’s card, I decided to have a low-key family party at the house for Judson.
Since our Disney trip, Judson has been obsessed with Mickey Mouse, so it seemed like the perfect theme. Plus, they already had a whole Disney wardrobe so he didn’t even need a birthday shirt.
I’m not sure how I feel about low key parties, I’m sad that we aren’t putting together a big production and ironing out all the details in the days leading up to the party. But, when the party actually rolls around, I’m happy to sit back and relax and I do think they’re easier to enjoy!
I decorated just a little, for me, of course. I’ll link everything at the bottom of this post to find it easily. We just served up pizza and a few of Judson’s favorite snacks to go with the cake and ice cream.
I had almost everything on hand to pull this party off and I was happy to grab a few things out of the party closet to add to the theme.
And you can only imagine how excited he was to see this cake!
We had the best time celebrating our TWO year old, and BK was pleased to see that we were celebrating his birthday on his actual birthday.
And I can’t not mention the fact that in going back to write all of these missing posts, I find sweet reminders of my grandfather. Like the one below, that’s him standing right behind Judson. He was never far away from the kids and the pictures give us such wonderful memories of the time we had with him. I don’t know what I would have done differently in the months leading up to his death, he was at our house or celebrating with us so many times, and I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunities.
judson was happy to be opening presents and he wanted to open and play with each and every single one.
We’re getting closer friends, closer to blogging in real time!
