We’re at the beach this week, so I thought a little themed Warbrobe Wednesday would be great for today. It’s going to be short and sweet, because the sand and sun are a little more inciting than the computer screen. You understand, right?
Three years ago, we decided to make it a tradition to have family photos made at the beach. It’s somewhere we are sure to go every year and I love the way the photos look, there isn’t a prettier backdrop.
But, does coordinating family photos stress you out, just a little? Because that’s what happens to me every single time I need to get outfits together for our photo sessions. I need us to coordinate enough to make it look really good in the picture, but not to match so match that it looks like the denim and white trend that was so popular for beach pictures for so long.
And I also get really fixated on things, so it becomes my mission to get us all coordinating for this photos. Let’s take a look back!
Our first year, we all coordinated in hues of blue. If we’re being honest navy works really well for me, and it’s usually my go-to color for pictures. Wearing a neutral like navy makes it easy to coordinate every one else.
The next year, we added a tiny little Jud to the pictures and I the kids wore matching light blue seersucker and Allen and I wore different hues of blue. Surprise, surprise, I found some navy.
Last year, I had this great dress from Stitch Fix, and while it was navy, it had a great pop of green that I pulled from for the outfits. Judson wore a green gingham one-piece, Braylen stayed neutral in white, and we picked out a green polo for Allen. These outfit choices are some of my favorites!
We’ll be having some more pictures made tomorrow and you’ll all be surprised to hear that I’m not wearing navy. I found this great aqua dress and a fun floral print for BK and we grabbed a couple of matching polo’s for the boys.

Is coordinating family photos a task for you, too? Or are your wayyyy more laid back than me? ๐

Love your photos! Especially the one under the dock. I try to coordinate family photos but I’ve learned to just roll with it and I usually end up loving the candid ones anyway. Beautifully Candid

I am a bit crazy about coordinating our outfits. We have done, red, white and blue, shades of brown and chambray, and back to navy and white (navy ftw!). This is our first year getting our photos done in the summer and we are completely changing the game. My boys with be in blue patterned overalls(with shades of white, coral and greeny teal incorporated), my hubs in a light blue polo, dd in her pink/coral watermelon dress (her current ffave that needs to be in the photos) and I am wearing a kelly green maxi. I went through about 5 possibilities before mixing and matching to settle on this combo.
